Love these little alarm clocks! I bought them specifically for the white noise integrated into the alarm clocks. I love how the light is dimmable. The nightlight function has lots of options. A bunch of different sounds.

This machine had what both my husband and I wanted:. Some light white background sounds to help us clear our minds and go to sleep. I like the fan and white noise options. The White noise sounds can almost sound like rainfall in the distance without sounding like splashes. It reminds me of the rain clouds coming which I used to hear before the rain got too close and heavy. The fan sounds are OK however beneath some of the dronish sounds are some distracting repetitive secondary sounds I wasn't too happy with. Nonetheless we found something that worked for both of us. There are two melodic music box type tunes that remind me of baby music. That is found on the option of "natural sounds" so that was a surprise because it's not a natural sound. The natural sounds range from the sounds of chirping birds, water flowing, ocean waves, and even a train on the tracks. Although the item is small enough to fit in a suitcase easily, it needs the adapter it comes with and does not have battery capability. So while it is portable it can't be used without being plugged in somewhere. There is a button on the top in the center as a light. It gives two different luminosities - high and low - and I find both of them still a little too high for my needs. However on the merit of the sounds it offers, it has been worth it for us. I was concerned that the sounds coming through might sound a little cheesy, with a cheap sound system. I was pleasantly surprised to find this little unit does a pretty good job on its sound quality. Now if anyone is interested in some tips to fall asleep, these suggestions might help some people: 1. Avoid caffeine in any form throughout the day. yeah I know everybody has to have caffeine to function in this day and age but I finally learned to go without it and it was a good thing to do it. 2. Avoid eating past 5 or 6 p.m. or at least four or five hours before bedtime. Eating concentrated calories like a heavy dinner can result in your body trying to digest and process all that into energy by the time you hit the sack. Since digestion and energy conversion begins within 20 minutes of eating and continues for a few hours, you might find that eating late causes you to stay up or wake up in the middle of the night because that is the peak at which your food is digesting and converting into energy. 3. Avoid eating late, eating sweets that convert into quick energy, or even alcohol, in the evening as this can result in insomnia, periodic waking, and restless legs. Alcohol can create a lot of body heat and make you feel too warm and restless in the middle of your sleep cycle. 4. Try to avoid watching negative news or violent disturbing movies before bed. 5. Try to end your day on a positive note. 6. Never go to bed worrying, carrying a grudge, or being angry with anyone. 7. Begin your bedtime early and try to shut stimulus down within 2 hours of going to bed. 8. Settle your mind on some pleasant reading, spiritual food reading, or something pleasant and low-key to watch or listen to before bed. 9. Adjust your pillows to be elevated to help some of that blood leave your head that's been busy thinking all day. You would be surprised how this helps. 10. Get a cuddly stuffed animal, a soft snuggle pillow, or some other comforter to snuggle up to. These can create positive endorphins in your system. It has been medically proven that stuffed animals can take down and relieve anxiety in people who suffer from anxiety. I hope these suggestions help. The sound machine is a great product and we liked it and use it every night! With the adjusted lifestyle above, we find we are sleeping 8 or 9 hours often straight through the night! Good luck and sleep tight! I know all of this sounds like it goes against the American lifestyle but we have to admit to ourselves we haven't really been all that good to ourselves because of a deterioration in healthful and peaceful living habits.

I use this noise machine every night and I sleep much better since I began using it. There are MANY sound options and, combined with various volume levels, I found the PERFECT white noise to help me sleep. There is a ring around the top which lights up to serve as a nightlight, however, I love that I can turn it off and keep my room pitch black if I want to. Also, the noise machine has an optional timer, for those of you who want the noise to shut off after a certain amount of time has lapsed. Personally, I use this machine for about 9 hours a night (I turn it on while I’m reading at night to prepare my mind for sleep) and let it run all night, turning it off when I wake up. I have yet to take it on trips but it is certainly portable enough to stash in an overnight bag or luggage. Finally, I like that the machine maintains my preferred volume and sound settings so I simply turn it on each night and the sound and volume are just where I like them. A different brand machine I tried before finding this one did not have this feature and I had to scroll through the sounds each night to find the right one. This machine is excellent! I highly recommend it to anyone considering a white noise machine for their or a child’s room.
