  • Bought Wide-Calf sz 7 (15.75" around at widest place)...smig on the large side & lacks arch support
Size: 7 Color: Wide/Calf/Grey
Update Dec. 23, 2019: Still LOVING these boots, so I actually went back to the ad to buy another identical pair of the Summit in gray, since finally showing some wear. SO sad to see they are out of my size, so I bought a similar Summit in brown, before they run out of my size, too. I definitely feel like I have gotten my money's worth...I continue to wear my gray ones once or twice a week for about 6 months a year. Went on an uplanned 10-mile walk on a nature trail once while wearing these, and other than getting a little hot so unzipped them slightly, no issues. The brown ones I recently got feel slightly smaller than I remember the gray ones being when new. Original Dec. 19,2017 review: Love these (Summit style, Gray), I've worn them about 10 times, now. I'm typically too cheap to be fashionable, but these are affordable and look good. I bought these on a whim when surfing holiday deals (oooops, bought myself something instead of shopping for others). I ain't no skinny thing and inherited my mother's muscular calves, so I ordered the 7 wide-calf ones since in stores I've definitely tried on boots I couldn't even zip up (for reference, the largest part of my calf is 15.75" around). I do wonder if the regular 7's would have fit me, since this style does allow for some adjustment and mine are on the tightest position, but when ordering another pair (same brand, different style/color) I went with the same size (still waiting for them to come in the mail). Numerical size seems about right, too, maybe just slightly on the large side, so I just wear thick socks (I typically wear 6.5 or 7 in flats & 7 in tennis shoes). The height is perfect; it covers my upper calves, stopping just a couple inches shy of my knees (I'm only 5'2", so if they were too much taller they might dig in to the back of my knees). My only real critique is that there isn't much arch support, so I may buy inserts, which would also fill up some of the extra room. A few years ago I bought a pair of boots that cost more and were lower quality than these, so I am very happy with the purchase...I'd almost consider buying a 2nd identical pair, since I'm pretty sure I'm going to wear them out, and then be so sad. Pros: Price, Appearance (color/style/height), available in Wide-Calf, soft and comfy inside (could be a con in warmer weather) Cons: lack of arch support ... show more

  • Great for bigger calves
Size: 8 Color: Black
I went to more stores than I'd like to admit to find a pair of high boots to fit over my calves. I turned to trusty Amazon and found these. They are absolutely perfect. I put them on and they zipped up without any force. If that isn't the best part they are super comfortable. I was able to wear them all day standing outside waving political signs from 6AM to 8PM and my feet barely hurt by the end of the day. Would recommend these boots. ... show more

  • Stylish with a few pros and cons
Size: 10 Color: Black
For reference I am 5' 5" a true size 10 and 230 lbs. so you know what weight I put on my shoes and what my comfort requirements are. My calf circumference is 19." My foot is regular width. Not wide. Not narrow. I need arch support and have some knee issues so I need a cushioned comfortable footbed as well. I listed the cons, then the pros, then my work around so you have options, based on your own foot/shoe situation/requirements. CONS: * Boot runs big by pretty much a size. I was able to move my foot around a lot. There was extra room on top and from front to back. With stockings or thin socks I can shake my foot around inside. * Shoe part of the boot is somewhat hard. It is not flexible and bendable as I hoped. * No arch support. * Not cushioned enough on footbed (**Keep in mind I have issues that require me to look for shoes with good arch support and cushioning. This may not apply to you**) * Personally I feel the shoe is a bit overpriced. It's not leather but these days hardly anything is. PROS: * This boot gives me at least an extra inch around my calf so for wide calves, (mine is19") this is a plus. * Top of boot hits about 2" below my knee and fits the bill for a stylish enough, tall enough, riding type looking boot. * I like that the lining inside is not too hot for fall, yet warm enough to wear in the winter with thick socks or tights. I wouldn't call the lining fur, but a soft comfortable light felt. * It looks stylish. * Calf part of the boot is soft enough and pliable. * Sole, while not being super bendable does flex AND has good grip on the bottom. (I just walked on a sidewalk that is notorious for being slippery during normal occasions, worse when it's raining, which it is, and I twisted my foot around on it and there is NO SLIP whatsoever so yes! Great grip.) * I had no problem getting the zipper up or down. * Even with a 19" circumferenced calf, I was able to pull this boot off and back on without taking the zipper down. But I'll be using the zipper. TAKEWAY and WORK AROUND I thought about sizing down to a 9, but took into consideration wearing thick socks and did not want to run the risk of it then being too tight. I decided to keep it and try it out. I am middle aged with footbed and arch support issues. Because of bad knees, I also need cushioning on the footbed. If you have any knee issues, you already know a cushioned comfortable footbed is a necessity. I am always looking for comfortable BUT STYLISH shoes! What I did was I inserted a cushioned comfortable insole from another shoe which alleviated much of the hardness and reduced the space inside making it not so loose anymore. With my cushioned insole and medium thickness socks on, it became a good comfortable fit. ✅ I'm wearing them over some light fitted pants (not tights) Boot fits comfortably over them with room to spare. ✅ It is raining and because of the material I don't have to worry about them getting wet. They seem rain proof enough AND have good grip. ✅ Overall I wish there was more cushioning In the foot bed and the shoe part wasn't so hard. I still felt some foot shock when walking. Ater walking around a couple hours (live in New York City and walk a lot) they loosened up a bit and were not so stiff to walk in. I may try a thicker more cushioned insole next time also. This boot is not for a small calf but great for a larger calf. Overall I'm happy with the boot and I'll keep it. For the price it would have been nice not to have to make so many adjustments on my own so giving 4 stars ⭐ because of that and arch/footbed. If something drastic happens, I'll be back to update this review. If you don't see an update it means my review pretty much covered everything. As with all PU vegan whatever you prefer to call non-leather shoes, I believe there will be wrinkling and peeling hopefully after couple years and not sooner. My experience with non leather shoes I have is they've held up for at least 10 years before they start to give. Along the way I may have had to replace a heel or sole or zipper but for the price I paid then it was worth it. We'll see what happens with these. For now with my adjustments all feels and looks good. 👍🏽 If you won't be adding cushioned insoles you may want to consider sizing down. I hope this gives you something to work with. Reviews with detail help me make most of my purchasing decisions. If you decide to try it but it doesn't work, the good thing about Amazon is returns are hassle-free! So if this looks good, give it a shot! Good luck! ... show more

  • Dream Pairs Boots ... cute, comfy & functional!
Size: 9 Color: Trace-wide-calf-camel
The answers I’m looking for as I read reviews..hope this helps! Cute boots, no they’re not the quality of $100-$200 boots! They are what they are & for the price, they’re great. I have a wide foot & they are comfortable. Size seems accurate, if you want to wear really thick socks, maybe size up. I wore them for 6 hours out of the box & my feet did not feel sore & I wasn’t dying to take them off as soon as I got in my car! They did scuff a bit but we were mostly standing in a crowded environment. It did not change the look & make them look cheaply made. I actually don’t mind the distressed look so it’s perfectly fine w/me. The calf area is stretchy & comfortable. They shipped quickly & arrived in a nice box, individually wrapped to prevent marks. The soles have decent traction. Perfect for Fall & Winter. Not sure how they’d hold up in heavy rain but I’ll edit my review if/when I wear in those conditions. Overall, I would recommend them! ... show more
