I get that there are different sizes. I think I ordered 6’. Wayyyyyy too small. Can’t drape it for casting. Trying to throw a tortilla and I end up throwing a chalupa everytime! 🤦♀️

We got this net for inshore fishing, mostly to catch smaller millet on the flats. The first thing we noticed is that it’s much lighter than our other 8’ nets. It weighs about 7lbs, which means it is just shy of 1lb of weight per foot. While this makes throwing it a bit easier, it will also affect throwing into a headwind and also the sink rate. As long as we use it on the flats (shallows), it should be okay, but it likely won’t be as affective in deeper water. As for the quality, this thing is pretty darn nice. The weights are lead, and all the lines feel like heavy duty mono. The lead rope is very long. Almost too long for our needs, but off a pier or dock, it’s probably perfect. The end of the rope os a neoprene wrist loop thing that was too small for us, but we can easily cut that off and retie with a loop. When throwing the net, it opened perfectly and pancaked every time. There is also nice pocket that forms near the horn when it opens. In all, it’s a pretty good net for the price. I’d absolutely buy it as a back up or if I was learning to throw a castanet. ... show more

I ordered the 4 footer because I can make a perfect throw every time with this size of net and I don’t need much room to whip it out. My old 6 foot net is just a bit too much for me on the deck of my boat. It’s well made. All parts and pieces are very good quality. I love the length of the rope! It has plenty of line for when I throw from rock ledges on high or when the bait are deep. The cuff is very comfortable. There are some tag ends that can snag a little, so I am going through and cleaning those up. I’m not going to bother struggling to get this in and out of the provided bag. This is my first casting net, so I have nothing to compare to. It takes some time learning how to throw properly. Seems to be good quality. I was hoping to catch minnows but the openings are too big. Works well on larger than Minnow fish.

This net spreads well is nice and soft. I use a bucket while out using it and then after rinsing and hanging to dry I put back into the included carry bag until I go out and use it again. I'm very happy with this cast net.
