I bought this after my bathroom sink got clogged with hair and soap scum. The gel is thick enough to push through standing water and actually reach the clog, which I liked. I followed the directions exactly poured it in slowly, let it sit about 20 minutes, then flushed with hot water, and the sink drained much better without needing a plumber. For a heavier clog, I did have to use it a second time to fully clear things out, so it’s not always instant. Still, if you follow the procedure as directed, this stuff works really well and is way cheaper than calling someone out.

I used half and it worked like magic for the bathtub. It uncloged it fast. The odor is strong therefore I suggest leaving door open or a window, or wear a mask. This product is good for selfservice maintenance, easy to use.

I used this on a clogged bathroom sink, and it did a great job of breaking down hair and soap scum. The gel is thick enough to sit on the clog, which is what I liked most. I followed the instructions and saw significant improvement after just one treatment. However, for heavier clogs, it took a second use. I picked up this twin pack of Drano Max Gel with the usual hope of effortlessly clearing a slow-draining shower and sink. While it did offer some improvement, it wasn't the magic bullet I always secretly wish these products would be. For minor, everyday clogs, particularly those caused by hair and soap scum, Drano Max Gel does a reasonably good job. I poured the recommended amount down a sluggish shower drain, let it sit for the instructed time, and followed up with hot water. The drain did clear up, allowing water to flow more freely than before. It handled a similar, light blockage in a bathroom sink with comparable results. It's certainly easier and less messy than snaking a drain for simple issues. The gel consistency is a plus, as it seems to cling to the gunk better than thinner liquids. The 80 oz size in a pack of two offers a decent value, ensuring you have some on hand for future minor annoyances. However, this isn't the solution for every clog. For anything more substantial or stubborn, like a truly backed-up drain or a deeper blockage, Drano Max Gel tends to fall short. I've had instances where it only partially cleared a problem, requiring multiple applications or ultimately leading me to resort to a plumber or a more robust mechanical solution.
