The only thing I do not like is it makes the water drain slow when I do not want stopper down. It takes up a lot of space in drain. Also make sure you do not make the mistake I made was not reading package careful. I bought my first one for a tub and I wanted bathroom sink. My mistake not companies.

The sink won't drain with the top attached so I'm just using the basket at this point to catch hair and when I need to plug the sink I put the top on. It's only slightly better than the drain plug I was using before, and that's because that didn't work at all. Top part also made very cheaply w thin plastic, buttons feel flimsy and it doesn't connect to basket well. Another note - to clean it you have to basically stick your finger or whatever object you're using all the way to the bottom of the basket to collect the hair and gunk. Not ideal, I'll probably just switch to a mesh strainer. ... show more

A good idea, but the design needs to go back to the drawing board. I have both the Sink Shroom and the Tub Shroom. Love them. When I saw the Drain Buddy, I thought that the use as a plug was just the upgrade I was looking for. Sadly, no. First of all, the cap does not rise very far above the drain, so not much water can get thru. Secondly, and more importantly, ALL members of the household, and ALL guests, must remember not to pinch those two buttons when adjusting the plug. Someone in my house did, less than 24 hours after installation. I found the cap off the strainer, and the strainer jammed down into the drain. I almost could not get it out. I had visions of having to call a plumber to remove the gadget designed to avoid having to call a plumber. I wound up using a letter opener and my fingers, repeatedly twisting and pulling until the strainer finally came out. My Drain Buddy came with a spare strainer, but if this happened once, it could easily happen again, and I might not be so lucky next time. The lever rod in my bathroom's sink broke and I decided to get this instead of calling the plumber again, after we needed their services to unclog multiple drains. It was really easy to install, I just had to put it in the hole that the stopper occupied before and that's it. If I want to block the water I can press down on it, and pull on it when I want to let the water go. I've also removed it for cleaning once so far and I was surprised by how much hair it caught, I didn't even realize I had this much hair go into the sink. Cleaning isn't that easy given the format of the basket, but at least you can detach the stopper from the basket and in the end I got it clean enough. I've removed one star though because the way my sink works if I don't pay attention the water can plug the drain because the faucet is right above the drain. It isn't a deal breaker, but it is an annoyance. ... show more
