Description

Wonderful game with great monsters and interesting story. The graphics are pretty simple with lots of draw distance issues and graphics pop-in. Load times are okay, but not super fast. Lots of switching between areas causes a lull in the action. The gameplay is a lot of rinse and repeat, which is fine if you enjoy that. So much fun and addicting can barely get off it. I definitely recommend it. If you’re not sure try the demo and your save transfers over. Perfect for new people of the series or people who are old fans. The story line is very interesting too. A lot more fun than it should be.

It took me quite some time, after a failure on the part of the first Joker game, for me to get back into playing Dragon Quest Monsters games. And, I must say, I'm glad I got back into it. I'll say this much, that the gameplay is enjoyable, with in-game clues that help a gamer know what the next step should be. There are also online resources that'll help with synthesizing new and more powerful monsters. There's also at least one DLC that can help with capturing monsters a gamer has already synthesized, so that they don't have to go through the process of synthesizing them again. I hope there'll be a DLC in the future that'll add monsters to synthesize, say monsters from previous games that weren't originally included in this one. My one complaint with the game is with the metal-type slimes. One thing I liked in previous games was that I could easily breed metal slimes and their superior types and get pretty much unstoppable healers by giving them those healing skills. In this game, there are traits that can be synthesized into metal slimes that'll make them more useful for that purpose, but I just didn't like that, after getting a metal slime, for instance, with a healing spell, it'd use practically all its magic using the technique once. What's wrong with having an unstoppable healer on the team? ... show more
