Arc systems has done it again. They took one of the most well-known anime franchises and turned it into an incredibly well-made fighting game! The proof? The game is nearly 2 years old and still has a huge player base. They are still adding DLC characters, even after their first season pass. If you're tired of Smash and want to play a traditional fighting game, this game is for you. There are also "auto-combos" which makes this game very beginner friendly (although some people dislike auto-combos, claiming that it takes less skill) and the graphics look amazingly done. ... show more

Dragon Ball FighterZ is a game that takes what worked well in the Marvel Vs. Capcom series and capitalizes on the natural appeal of the Dragon Ball franchise. The 3 on 3 fights are quick, action packed, and satisfying. The developers did a good job of balancing the game in such a way that casual players would not be completely overmatched while veteran players have enough tools to differentiate themselves from the pack. There is a lot of polish and love put into this game. The developers appear to be true fans of the franchise in their recreation of iconic moments from the series. Several fan favorites from the cartoons have been included and given techniques that highlight what fans have loved from their favorites. If you enjoy either fighting games or Dragon Ball in any form, do yourself a favor and pick this up. It will give you and your friends hours of enjoyment! ... show more

Love this addition to my switch library! Theres some minor differences in its presentation(brightness,effects,load times) but overall the performance and feel of the game is the same as the other platforms. The added bonus of the game now being able to be played on the go is enough to warrant a purchase. I havent tried the single joycon option but I imagine it does its job just fine. I highly reccomend getting a controller or fight stick for this game though as the joycon grip feels odd to me. I really enjoy playing this game on PC more because I have all the DLC there but this is great to play when I'm away from that. ... show more

If you ever wanted to play current DBZ on the go then this game is an absolute 5 stars, and here is why. This game provides amazing graphics when in dock and handheld mode. Many average players wouldn't even know how detailed and artistic this game is until compared to the pc/xbox/ps4 version, but I still would perfer taking it with me rather than have it always sitting in my room. I love the story mode in this game, considering the fact that it doesn't follow the storyline like any other DBZ game in previous years.It actually makes it interesting to follow the plot and even entertains me to see a few jokes put into it. Although, the online gameplay is fairly new to the switch, it isn't the best out there, as of yet. This doesn't negate my review in any way since I mainly intend to beat the story mode and play it with friends and family. If you are hesitant in purchasing this game for yourself or as a gift just STOP searching for the next switch game and pick this up(Or until mario party and super smash ultimate releases). ... show more
