I want to start of by saying I love Dr Martens. I’ve been wearing them since i was nipper back in the 12th century. Ok, times have changed and with it all social and geographical boundaries have been crossed and recrossed. Each new generation has claimed to be the true generation that will be wearing their 1460s while the revolution that was going to be televised was called off because no one watches cable anymore. Yes, quality has dropped and getting the inexpensive and unequaled quality bouncing soles that I used to buy, is as far away as the countries that these are now outsourced too. There are of course the more expensive made in England line which at a price duplicates the ones from my youth that were very affordable and didn’t involve having to sale your granny. As much as we hate the Chinese outsourcing just bare in mind that they made this move to avoid bankruptcy. So for the people that complain that they're not as good as they used to be, remember that you came pretty close to not having anything to complain about, other than your Vietnamese Converse. What most people don't know is Doctor Martens had a twin brother called Solovair which are still made in England at the Doctor Martens factory. Prices are pretty high but they're worth checking out. A piece of advice. I've seen some photos where the leather has split, but they also looked like they've not been cared for. Get some wonder balsam or equivalent and condition them often. They'll crease around your foot nicely and stay protected from whatever nature throws at them. ... show more

they are super cute, but definitely double sock when you're breaking them in. i'm a size 8 and these shoes fit perfect in size 7 and I still have wiggle room. They're also very heavy but it doesn't bother me because I love the style.

    • Cool boots but not for me
I tried these boots along with the Jadon III which is very similar, has the same type of leather but a shorter platform. These are nice boots but I ended up returning them and keeping the Jadons. The 1460 Max platform doesn't sound much higher on paper, but it's a surprisingly huge difference in function and look. I was interested in the extra height since I'm very short, but1460 Pascal Max totally looks like a fashion boot and is a bit harder to walk in. I like how the Jadon III still passes as a work boot. Hope this helps anyone else who may be comparing the 2, but here's more info about this boot - I love the look of this textured leather, it's very soft, seems higher quality than the Dr Martens smooth leather, and seems it'll be easy to take care of. They're pretty comfortable out of the box but would still need a little breaking in. I rate these boots 4 stars because they're squeaky when walking especially on a hard floor. The Jadons are squeaky too, but if you like the boots the squeaking is worth dealing with. My size is normally women's 7.5 - 8, and I have to size down in most docs. But since these ones are sized for women's (narrower) foot shape, I think they're more true to size - 8 fits me best in these boots. For men or anyone with wider feet, you probably want to get a ½ or full size up. ... show more
