these are the most comfortable boots I've had, out of the box there was hardly a breaking in period and they fit perfectly, I did size up though because my previous order of docs was too small, so my foot is about 9 3/4 inches so I ordered a womens size 8 and it's perfect

These beat the hell out of my feet, to the point I wasn't sure I'd be able to wear them ever. But with grit, bandages, thick socks, and some determination, they turn into some snazzy, damn good shoes. Whether for fashion or function, Docs impress. They run a tad big, but I wouldn't size up.

Day 1: pulled out of box and wore them for 14hrs straight (stupid idea) for work. I got blisters. Super stiff, squeaky leather. Day 2: wore for 12hrs straight (i didnt learn my lesson) but it feels so much better to wear, little bit looser leather, less squeaky. These are the old school type doc martins. They cost a bit more but are built much tougher. They look great and the fit is perfect. They are very comfortable and I had no break in time. It's worth the extra few dollars for these as they are better built than the 100 dollar variety.
