Description

A perfectly formed miniature of the classic, the Maccy Mary Jane shoe is made from classic Patent Lamper leather and with a cemented sole ensures flexibility for growing feet. Added detailing with adjustable straps and hook and eye fastenings allow for ease of wear, while this shoe continues to mimic the trademark style with black imitation welting, faux yellow stitching and Dr.Martens tread pattern. The trans Airwair sole is oil-and-fat-resistant, hard wearing and offers good abrasion and slip resistance. Dr. Martens is the stuff of legends. It all began near Munich, Germany in 1945 when Dr. Klaus Maertens injured his foot in a skiing accident in the Bavarian Alps. To make walking easier during the healing process, he designed a shoe with an air- cushioned sole. Using old rubber tires, he constructed soles that had air trapped within closed compartments. He showed his prototype to his engineer/inventor friend, Dr. Herbert Funck, and together they decided to develop and produce the shoes. Not only did the shoe solve the doctor's immediate problem, but it also started to sell well in Germany. By 1959 the two decided that they needed a company to produce and distribute the shoes, then called Dr. Maertens, in other parts of the world. At first, many manufacturers rejected the concept of an air cushioned sole as a short-lived gimmick. However, the R. Griggs Group, located in the village of Wollaston in England, decided to go along with the idea by creating the first work boot with the revolutionary sole. On the first of April 1960, the first cherry red eight-eyelet work boot was produced and named 1460. To sell the brand name better in England, the name was anglicized to Dr. Martens. The range was branded AirWair and the rest is history.

  • Best school shoes
Size: 3 Little Kid Color: Black Patent Lamper
Best school shoes ever. Comfortable and durable! Perfect size (slightly on the bigger side) and not heavy, slip resistant, and the color is perfect!

  • PERFECT!
Size: 1 Little Kid Color: Black Patent Lamper
Timeless style in the lovely, durable dr. Martens brand- match made in heaven. We are thrilled with these! saw a lot of comments that the sizing runs huge, but that was not the case for us. I would say it’s only a touch bigger than her other shoes of the same size. Same dr. Martens quality I’m used to at such a reasonable price ($45). I love how these will look beautiful with her Christmas dress and are also durable to walk around in/ play in. And will look just as great with a pair of jeans too. My only complaint is how they don’t come in toddler sizes because I would have really loved to get my littlest one a pair. ... show more

  • fantastic, adorable shoes
I love Docs. They hold up fantastically, they're cute, versatile, and in this case, feminine. Once they are broken in, they are comfortable. My kid loves her Docs, and these are, I think her third pair. She had them in black before. They are durable as heck and stand up to wicked abuse at the hands of my 4, then 5, then 6, and now, 7 year old girl who loves to jump in wet and muddy puddles, crush the heels of her shoes, and otherwise abuse the heck out of them. Docs stand up to this child the way no other brand has. As to fit - I know how Docs fit now that I'm used to them. They run somewhat bigger than you might think, but I knew this. I wear a size 4 UK (37 EUR, supposedly a 6 US womens, 5 men's acc to the shoes). The 37 is spot on, 5 is also correct, but I cannot wear a US 6, so I don't know. I just know what fits my kiddo. My suggestion would be try them on first and get to know the fit, but if that's not possible, maybe a half size down from expected - or buy a size bigger in anticipation of growth. :-) ... show more

Love these for my kids. Fit well made well and are true to size. Color is great and they are holding up nicely. Easy to clean they do scuff due to the material but still look great

  • Very sturdy
My granddaughter prefers wearing dresses at this point in life. And she prefers wearing dressier type shoes. These Dr Martens are perfect. They are shiny, like patent leather. They are comfortable and very sturdy. She can run in them and the soles are great on pavement snd playground equipment for climbing etc. she has between medium to wide feet and they fit comfortably width wise. They look like they will hold up as long as the fit her! ... show more

Realmente los amé. El diseño es precioso y combina con todo, se ven elegantes y al mismo tiempo cómodos para uso diario. El material es resistente y se nota la calidad típica de Dr. Martens.
