The 1460 is the original Dr. Martens Boot. Made with instantly recognizable features: 8 eyes, classic Dr. Martens leather, grooved sides, a heel-loop, yellow stitching and a comfortable, air-cushioned sole. Built to last, this unisex boot is forged using one of the finest methods of construction: utilizing a Goodyear welt and heat-sealing it to the sole. The 1460 is made with highly durable leather and sits on an AirWair sole, which is oil and fat resistant with good abrasion and slip resistance. Use Dr. Martens Wonder Balsam to protect the leather and keep your boots clean, soft and supple. Understated leather tames the combat-reminiscent style of Dr. Martens's 1469 Originals 8-Eye boot. Looped pull at the back and signature stitching at the manmade sole.

These are great boots, but I recommend wearing them for short periods of time first. They are heavy boots and take some time to break in. Once have are broke in they are super comfortable and look great. They can be worn in so many situations. Dress up, dress down, and the leather quality keeps them looking good for such a long time. These boots last forever. My last pair lasted ~10 years before finally needing to be replaced. They never come in half sizes so they either are a little too big or a little too small. I go with a little too small, and while the break-in period really hammers my feet, after a few weeks they fit like a glove and are perfect. Size was a bit bigger than I expected, but since no 1/2 sizes, I ordered a size "up" on purpose. I returned and will get another pair in the correct size, but I may have returned them anyway due to two odd "melt marks" on the left boot sole- on outer side. They were small flaws, but for a pair of boots that I want to wear for years, those kind of flaws should have been noticed before shipping out to me!! I ordered these boots for my 13 year old daughter and she LOVES these boots. We get compliments on these boots every time she wears them out. I think one reason is the fact that they are white Dr. Martens. She did not have a "breaking in" period at all. She wears a 9 1/2 shoe regularly and I ordered these in a 10. It is a great quality shoe. She says it is a very comfortable boot as well. I am even thinking of ordering some for myself in the future. These fit as expected. Ordered down a half size as per some suggestions for a tighter fit. Good quality and have held up nicely in the short time I've had them. I would reorder if ever needed except I would get the 10-eye variation as I think it looks better, personal choice.
