I've been wanting a pair of Docs for years and never bought them because they're just too expensive, but I decided to finally reward myself for my birthday this year and I'm already glad I did! I found these for just over $85 for the boots and the wonder balm, so I didn't even have to spend much more than I did the last time I bought new shoes for my birthday ($60 3 years ago. What can I say? I'm allowed to be cheap while I'm in school!) and I still have some money left over. I'm not really sure why so many people say they're so horribly uncomfortable for so long while breaking in. I wore mine around the house with regular socks for a couple days and that was all it took to get rid of any discomfort. They're still a bit stiff, but they're not any worse than I would expect leather boots to be and definitely not bad enough to call them horribly uncomfortable. They just feel like shoes that need to be broken in. I think maybe people are just buying the wrong size. I usually wear a US 8.5-9, leaning more towards a 9 in most brands. I have almost no arches, with my feet being skinny at the ankles and wider at the toes. I bought these in a UK 7/US 9 and they're the perfect size. I agree with the reviewers that if you're in a half-size you should probably go up to the next full size for the best fit, and if you're having trouble breaking them in maybe try freezing a bag of water in the toes to loosen them up a bit first. I bought them in the smooth black since it seemed the most practical (black matches everything in my wardrobe, and can be dressed up or down). The leather is very thick and strong, so I have a feeling these will last quite a while as long as I take care of them. They're very practical if you live somewhere where it's either cold or wet (or both) for most of the year. Where I live it snows from about October until early May, and the rest of the year is pretty rainy, so these should really come in handy when I want to keep my feet warm and dry but still look good. ... show more

After reading through many of the reviews, I reluctantly decided to order these. And I'm glad I did! Unlike some commenters, I received mine in an authentic Doc Martens box and they definitely are authentic, high quality boots. They do take a while to break in so don't expect to be wearing these all day long straight out of the box. A couple hours a day for a couple weeks and they're there. I'm from Canada so with the shipping cost and the conversion rate (which is painful lately!) these cost me around $80 CAD, but still cheaper than anywhere else for brand new Docs! As for the fit, these may seem to run big but it's actually because they're a little on the wide side. They do fit true to size but they're roomier than other boots would be... not a problem for me as I think they look killer with loose laces, just tossed on with cuffed jeans peeking out the top! I'm excited for the impending fall weather so I can layer these up with some knitted socks. These boots just... ugh... they make every outfit spectacular. They make no outfit spectacular! They're just amazing. They do it all and then some. Combat boots are in BIG TIME and for good reason... might as well get yourself the authentic, the original - get yourself some Docs. ... show more

I love my Docs! I have worn them every single day since I got them. They definitely took several days to break in, even at a job where I am constantly on my feet and walk at least a couple miles worth in a day. I think it's because I chose the "smooth" leather, and from what I understand I think that is the toughest leather Docs come in; Maybe this accounts for why they don't have the emblem stamped on the side. They were unbelievably stiff when I pulled them out of the box, and I got blisters on the backs of my ankles for the first few days which was expected, but after 2 weeks they have softened up incredibly & are the comfiest things in the world. You can skip the blisters by wearing thicker socks, but that made the boots tighter and uncomfortable for me while breaking in. They came already laced up ( which made me super happy =] !!! ) with the black laces and also included an extra pair of laces in yellow. They go well with everything and they keep my feet warm and dry with a lot of ankle support, which are important things during winter in Omaha with all the snow and ice. Also, I wear a size 9 US women's and the UK size 7 were a perfect fit. Happy shopping! ... show more

Such a good quality! I was waiting for a month because i'm russian, so, dear seller, sorry for my delay with a feedback! Now about boots: Amazing! I've had a bad, bad experience with a Martens, my last pare of boots (was bought in Russia) was a fake. So i have been using them for a 2 years (not bad). But now i can see a total difference. Different package, different leather, different smell! Leather is really quality. I can see a water repellent on leather, good shoelaces, good flexible sole with not too hard rubber. It's important, i've seen a check (control) sticker. So, i used them for 4 days (And in Russia now a REALLY BAD weather, guys) and i'm absolutely happy. I needed a not too much - pare of fine boots and i got it. If you have any doubts - stop it :) Take it and don't be afraid! Delievery to a pick-up-point was very fast and safety too.The. i've had to wait a month for a delievery to Russia but it was another company specialized in delievery to Russia. And i forgot! Size chart was accurate, it fits so good. Thank you, seller! (And for all who read it: Sorry for my bad english ^^) ... show more
