I have read a few bad reviews complaining about the consistency of this shaving cream., and how it is too runny. Quite simply, you have to know how much to use (which is a very small amount each time), and how to apply it (very thinly). I have been using it for a week now, and I can already see the difference. Good and bad with this. It absolutely works well and gives a good shave. The bad is the product is very thin and runs everywhere. You will waste some product. I recommend shaving in the shower instead of the sink. I think they could fix this with a condiment type bottle they seals up after you stop squeezing, or at least make the dispenser hole smaller. Thickening the product might work or it also might make it hard to rinse out of the razor which is does very well as is. ... show more

This is a great all-natural option to other shave creams with questionable additives. The adjustments are that you have to get used to applying with a shave brush--wet brush, swirl with shave cream after putting some in a souffle cup/container of choice, and then apply to the face. I started using this product as a shave gel because it is the only one I'm not allergic to. As other reviewers have mentioned, it is very watery and would be better with a pump. The bottle has some weird religious phrases that are off-putting and the fact that they are on a soap bottle makes me think the owners must be nuts because no marketing company advised this design. My guess is they know the product is too runny but it is the lack of ingredients that cause contact dermatitis that make it that way. I figure I have to chose between runny without rashes and thick cream with skin irritation. The smell isn't pleasant but isn't terrible. None of the products for skin sensitivities smell very good because they don't have added fragrance. On short trips where I need to minimize liquids in a carryon, this doubles as body wash and shave gel. I hope I find something better but for now this works because I don't get a rash or dry skin when I use this and I shave my legs every single day. ... show more

I use this soap with a barber’s old style brush and it creates a great lather. It leaves my face super smooth. All natural with no irritating chemicals. I would definitely buy it again.

Color is brown'ish but that's normal. Called and spoke with Dr. Bronner's rep and confirmed the color was normal and how to use the product for best results. It is not the normal gel or cream texture. Has soapy'ish texture slightly runny but works just fine.

I just wish the packaging was different. Its a liquid so it gets very mess with the screw cap. A dispensing cap would have been much better
