For whatever strange reason they feel is important, car manufacturers use those awful cap-covered lugnuts, and in applications that offer no room for standard sockets. They are standard lug nuts that are covered with a thin tin 'cap' to give it the appearance of a fancy stylish lug nut. Those caps tend to loosen very quickly on the lug and are an odd shape/size to where the included lug wrench (or any wrench for that matter) will no longer work on. Fun times if you find yourself stranded on the road somewhere and need to remove your wheel. And heaven forbid should you round them off while trying to remove them. These 'one-piece' lug nuts have become a necessary replacement for many cars. They are solid lug nuts (like you'd expect) which standard sockets will work on. Including the lug wrench that came with your car. AND they're fancy like the manufacturer expected them to look like. The don't deform over time. The socket that fits it today, will be the same one that fits it a few years from now. My guess is that it's done to add yet another layer of complexity and difficulty to working on your own car, which creates another reason to take your car to the dealer instead of doing things yourself. Because they can't be more economical than the solid lug nuts. Even if they were a few cents cheaper, would it really matter when you're already spending +/- $30k on a new car? Order these lug nuts for your car to replace your existing 'cap style' nuts at the first chance you have. ... show more

As you might know already the Ford nuts have a casing over the actual nut that swells so you can't take them off without chiseling the cover off. These new lug nuts worked perfect and look great. My wife's Grand Caravan needed something done about the poor quality OEM lugnuts. She had a flat and could not get the lugnuts off to put the spare on. She called our road service and even he couldn't get them off even with the 19.5 mm impact socket. I got these because the tire shop had told her 20 new ones would cost 200 bucks. We both thought that was nuts! (Pun intended) So long story short I got these and the issue was solved! Would give 5 stars on durability as they have only been on for a month. I did put a good coating of Ceramic product on the new lugnuts to help keep from rusting. I would recommend doing the Ceramic coating on them to anyone who lives up north where salt is used in the winter months. ... show more

These are a huge improvement over the OE 2-piece nuts (with sheet metal appearance caps). But... the flange is smaller than on the nuts used by Ford for my Bronco Sport. This means that they don't fill the counterbored holes in the wheels the same way. Will anyone notice? Unlikely, especially at 70mph... but I will always know... ... show more
