I have a Whirlpool "Duet" HE frontloading washer. I have found that most of the fabric softeners onto market today are a thinner "viscosity" and simply do not work as intended in my machine. The "thinner" fabric softening products will seep out of the reservoir before it is their "show time" thus diluting the detergent and not being there to mix with the rinse water. May be a fault of the machine design, I don't know. However, for my "Duet, the Downy Concentrated Fabric Conditioner works. And it works well. It leaves a pleasant aroma and actually "softens" the clothes. The "thinner" products just simply do not seem to work. This is a reliable product which does not disappoint in the way it softens the fabric. Familiar scents, reliable performance. This product doesn’t always dissolve completely in my wash. It leaves spots of undissolved downy on my clothing. Have to rewash. Who needs extra work with laundry? Just use a dryer sheet. The problem with downy not dissolving seems random. Some washes it wasn’t a problem. Very inconsistent product and causes extra time examining clothing as it comes out of the wash… again, I don’t have time for that. ... show more

This is my preferred fabric softener for over 30 years especially after reading what heavy use of dryer sheets can do. Nice fragrance. I love it for my towels and bed sheets!

Downy fabric softener has been in my laundry bucket since I was in grad school…back when Nirvana was still an unknown band. So it goes without saying that I should know by now what to expect from Downy fabric softener. Every single bottle I’ve purchased over the past 35 years has provided the exact same excellent performance. Soft, clean clothes out of the washer…no wrinkling, color issues, or excessive wear. Just softness. I’ve occasionally tried other softeners just for the heck of it. But I’ve never found anything which exceeds the performance of Downy. ... show more
