Bigger than I expected, but in a good way
These bowls were bigger than I expected when I opened the box. Not a bad thing, just one of those “oh okay, these are real serving bowls” moments. I was picturing something a little more modest, and then I set them on the counter and realized they’re definately made for putting food out for a group. The shape is nice because they’re oval and deep, so they don’t feel like flat platters where food starts sliding around. I used one for pasta and it looked really good on the table without having to do anything special. The smaller one is still a good size too. I could see using it for fruit, salad, rolls, chips, roasted vegetables, whatever. The big one is probly more of a party or family dinner size unless you just enjoy making a dramatic amount of salad. They’re plain white, which I like because they match pretty much anything. Nothing busy or weird, just clean looking ceramic. They make food look a little nicer, which is funny because it’s still the same food I made five minutes earlier, but put it in a nice bowl and suddenly it seems like I planned dinner better than I did. They do have some weight to them. Not crazy heavy, but you know you’re holding ceramic serving dishes, not lightweight plastic. I actually like that on the table because they feel sturdy, but it does mean storage takes a little thought. These are not tiny bowls you just shove into any cabinet. I had to move a few things around, because apparently my cabinets are already full of stuff I swear we “need.” Cleaning was easy enough. The smooth inside rinsed out fine after pasta, though I wouldn’t let sauce sit in there forever just because white dishes and red sauce like to have trust issues. I’ll probably use these most when we have people over, but honestly they’re nice enough for regular dinners too if I’m not feeling lazy about washing a bigger bowl. Really nice set, just be ready for the size. They’re bigger than I thought, but that’s also what makes them actually useful for serving.

These serving bowls are too cute!
When I saw these serving bowls by Dowan, I knew I had to have them! I have several Dowan items for serving, and this one is clearly well made like all of my other pieces. The ceramic is thick and durable, and looks absolutely gorgeous. I love the scalloped edges. It adds so much personality to these serving dishes. The dishes themselves are relatively large, and can easily fit quite a bit of food in them. I believe one is 12 inches and the other is 16 inches, and they are a few inches deep each. These dishes are not too light and not too heavy. They are clearly made to be used over several years without issue. The color is a nice, bright white, which matches any decor and table setting. It also looks great with all of my other Dowan pieces. The quality truly is outstanding, and these look so great on the table! They are also super easy to clean after the meal. I haven't had anything really stick to them, and there are no stains even after using them to hold red pasta. Overall, these are a really great option for serving dishes! I would highly recommend!

Excellent set of porcelain
Dowan has been meeting my ceramic needs for a while now! I am currently the proud owner of bowls, centerpieces, even a lazy Susan all with handcrafted elements made out of superior materials. The prices in department stores for ceramic can get wildly expensive, and so rather than skimping on material or quality I've found that I can turn to Dowan for any of these needs and obtain just about anything I am looking for, no matter how bespoke, quite easily. These serving bowls look excellent! The color and quality on these is outstanding and add some unique quality and stylistic flair to wherever they happen to sit. I've currently got one in my kitchen for fruit, and another on my entryway console table as a type of landing zone for keys, phones, wallets, etc. The bowls themselves are exactly as heavy as they should be for ceramic. Mine came, like every Dowan product I've ordered, very well packaged and arrived with zero issues, flaws, or damage. Overall, I think that the price point on these is quite fair and compared to interior decor department store prices much more reasonable. Another thing that sets these apart is that these are pretty unique in design, and something that I've never really seen before in this particular design. The biconvex warped design just has so many possibilities for display if you're anything like me you'll use them constantly for entertaining or have them on permanent display. Overall, 5/5

Beautiful, affordable and great for large parties or large family dinners
If you are looking for LARGE quality bowls these will certainly do the job. The smooth surface is inviting for easy clean up, as well as overall appeal. The scalloped edges add a touch of beauty and uniqueness that many white serving bowls don't offer. These ceramic dishes are a testament to DOWAN's excellent durability, craftsmanship and neutrality - allowing them to work in all party settings. They have a substantial weight to them, making them versatile for everyday use, or occasional holiday events. In my opinion they are also very affordable and worth the current price ($49.99 - at the time of this review), especially when comparing them to more notable brands like Pioneer Woman or Pampered Chef.

Hefty, elegant serving bowls that look more expensive than they are
These DOWAN serving bowls made a strong first impression when coming out of the box. They are thick, hefty ceramic pieces that feel substantial without being awkward to handle, and both arrived well protected with no chips, cracks, or defects. The solid white glaze and flowing, wavy rim design give them a clean, modern look that blends easily with different table settings. The glaze on the bowls received is smooth, with no noticeable rough spots or pinholes. Even knowing they are 12" and 16", both bowls look quite large once on the table. The smaller bowl has been great for spaghetti night with the family and works well for other pastas or a cut-vegetable tray with hummus in the middle for dipping. The higher sides help keep sauces and juices contained, which would also make them practical for cooked vegetables or a roast. The larger bowl has not yet been used for a main course, but its size and depth appear more than capable of holding a roast or turkey with trimmings. The bowl sits flat with no wobble. Because of their size, these bowls have been hand washed so far, and they cleaned up easily; they should fit in a dishwasher if stacked thoughtfully, and the smaller nests inside the larger for storage. Overall, this set offers solid, substantial serving pieces that look more expensive than their price point and are versatile enough for everyday family dinners or entertaining.

Beautiful, Heavy-Duty Serving Bowls
These bowls are seriously impressive. They have a great substantial weight to them and feel incredibly sturdy and high quality—definitely not thin or cheap ceramic. The scalloped edges are beautiful and give them an elegant look while also making them surprisingly easy to grip and carry. I love having two different sizes, and they’re incredibly versatile for salads, pasta, fruit, sides, or larger dishes. They’re practical enough for everyday use but absolutely beautiful enough for holidays and entertaining. Gorgeous, beefy, well-made serving bowls that feel like they’ll last forever.
