  • I loved coloring these mini pages and giving them away to ...
Format: Paperback
I loved coloring these mini pages and giving them away to some of the people here at The Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. I'd love doing them as full size pages as well. This is the second book I've completed. I've used my gel pens on them...the neon and glitter gel pens were my primary choices on this book...I've done some with just neon or glitter pens and some with both. The recipients have really voiced their enjoyment. Most have put them one their office windows. The nursing aids have put them on mirrors, windows, and lamps in their homes. If you are having a "down" day, these are nice to do because they can be started and finished quickly...giving you a quick reward and enjoyment...ok, substitute "me" for "you" to be more accurate. I could have put them on my window but I needed the smiles I got giving them to other people. I might reorder these little coloring books just to do the pictures in different colors, that's how much fun I had doing them! I got way much more enjoyment than the cost of the little books...under $2 for 8 wee pictures! I've attached 6 of the 8 (the other 2 went to their new homes before I thought of taking the pictures). I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed coloring them! ... show more

  • Fun for kids to color and display on window
Format: Paperback
I love these little Dover books for children. They offer a lot of entertainment for the price, whether it be coloring, mazes, spot the differences or one of many other activities offered. Dover does offer full size books, but these little Dover books are small, about 4 x 5.5”, which some people do not realize before ordering. I think these pages are a good size so that kids don’t get frustrated or bored. This kaleidoscope book has 8 pages to remove and color. When done, for best effect, the child’s work can be displayed on a window for all to see. ... show more

  • A relaxing book that gives beautiful end results. A relaxing book that gives beautiful end results.
Format: Paperback
This is a pretty neat little coloring book. I'd been wanting a book like this for awhile now. As someone with several anxiety disorders, coloring is a very calming activity and I am really happy to see companies making "adult coloring books" now. While this may not be in the same line as the others, the end result is the same. I had a nice, calming time coloring in this book and I was very pleased with the results. The only drawbacks for me are the fact that it's so small and that the coloring pages aren't perforated. The point is to take the sheets you color out of the book to hang on window, but it's very hard to get them out of the book now. A little time and patience got it out, but I can't understand why the pages aren't perforated to make this easier. ... show more

  • A cute little pocket sized entertainment for those who want something that's not electronic
Format: Paperback
This booklet is SMALL folks. Purse sized or inside a man's breast pocket small. The designs are lovely like little stained glass windows on a paper that allows some light to filter through in case one wanted to cut them out and put them up in a child's window. It's okay for a little distraction for around $2.00, but it would not be worth paying more even to ship. I'm going to use my home copier to blow up the designs to a larger size to color as a relaxation at home because trying to color within such small designs is not relaxing for me. Additionally, I wanted to use colored pencils or crayons, so moving the designs to regular paper will suit me better. If you want a pocket sized booklet that you can color with a little pack of markers as an adult, then this might suit you. For those with insomnia who have been told to unplug from electronics and bright lights later in the evening, this might be something to add to your winding down routine before bedtime. I don't know if a young child will enjoy it simply because of the small size and hand control needed to color it. An older child who no longer wants childish coloring books might appreciate this as a little holiday gift. ... show more

  • Love the kaleidoscope books!
Format: Paperback
I bought this coloring book for my eight year old granddaughter and myself to sit down and color together. I love spending quality time with her and we do alot of things together. We really love the Dover Kaleidoscope coloring books. We color a page every visit and put them in the window which faces east so we can catch the morning light. The colors really show through with a light source behind them. We have found that the color pencils will fade after a while, a month or two, but all you have to do is recolor the paper. I prefer the markers as they leave behind a smooth stroke. They don't fade as easily and really catch the sun. If you don't place them in a window, they won't fade at all. The pages in the Dover books are easy to tear out and look smooth when you do so. This is a nice activity that doesn't take up too much time. It is also perfect for car or school bus rides. I recommend that you have at least two of the Dover Kaleidoscope books. One for you and one for a guest. These books put a smile on everyone's face. ... show more

  • Don't buy this product. It's a rip off!!
Format: Paperback
This is a rip off!! The book is only 5" X 6"!! That info was not mentioned anywhere in the description!! The designs are super tiny so very hard to color and each page has excessive amounts of black. I would have never paid seperate shipping for this but that fact was hidden as well. All items I purchased were listed as being distributed by Amazon...why were each of them shipped individually!! It was rated 3.5 stars so I thought it would be OK. The reviews would have to be fake cause there is NO WAY anyone would give it a rating higher than 2 stars!! ... show more

  • My favorite of the little stained glass coloring book
Format: Paperback
This is my favorite of the little stained glass coloring books by A.G. Smith. While the patterns are described as kaleidoscopic, it see them more as snowflakes and am enjoying coloring them in various hues of silver, white and blues. I will cut them out leaving a 1/4 to 1/2 inch of black around the edges for Christmas time, and put them in the windows of my home to enjoy their soft colors during the holiday season. However, if one is more drawn to brighter colors, one could use reds, oranges, yellows etc. and put them in the windows for fall or for general decoration. In my opinion, markers work best for that purpose, however colored pencils work well, too. Make sure a piece of scratch paper is put in-between the patterns to protect them, as coloring on both sides gives more intense color to the designs. Enjoy! ... show more
