First of all, this price was far less than the dealer’s OEM ($150 parts and labor.). With one small exception, it was a perfect fit and passed the state safety inspection. Now the small exception…for my car, the gasket was just too thick. I ended up trimming it with a razor blade and using some clear silicone to get a good seal. If you need a replacement for your brake light, this one works great - just be aware that it might need a little tweaking to fit. ... show more

    • Easy installation.
Easy installation. Two black clips on the assembly hold the light in place. You have to squeeze them and push outward. The wire is simply a "molex" type connector. Once it was installed, I had to start the car in order for the computer to recognize the new assembly. I have no idea what the dealer would've charged, but I'm sure it would've been more than what I paid. ... show more

I should have listened. After reading the reviews most people left I knew I had to be careful installing this light. I used a small amount of lube, gently pushed the light into place and boom! Crack! Save your old part and use the guts from the new to make yourself a Frankenstein part. I was a glass man for 30 years and now a mechanic. I have some experience in these things. The manufacture knows there is a problem and has done nothing to correct it. Shame on them. Hence the one star review. ... show more

the clips would not hold in place and plastic cracked under minor pressure used to install.

    • Did not fit well
The foam padding was too thick to allow the light to snap into place. I was able to, with difficulty, remove the light bar and install it into the old light housing.
