  • Great quality!
I used this kit on my 2003 extend cab 4x4 Silverado. It was somewhat easy to put in place but a real pain to get to the bracket that bolts to transmission & the lines at the tank were a pain to break loose. For those who plan on doing this yourself, I had to use a 1/4 inch drive deep well 13mm socket with universal & extension bars (I tried the 3/8 drive but found I didn't have enough room, the socket with universal was too long & the fuel lines prevented me from gaining access) to get the nut off trans stud & a long crowbar to maneuver the new bracket in place onto stud. I also removed driver front wheel & wheel well so I could see the nut & I also unbolted the short 4x4 drive shaft universal so I could gain better access. (I didn't remove the shaft just moved it side to side) Just remember to use jack stands (I actually used 3, you can never be too safe) & wear safety glasses that form to your face to prevent rust & other particles from getting in your eyes. Its no fun watching the Dr. come at your eye to scrape out a piece of metal with a pointy instrument. I've been there ... show more

  • It can be done but not easy .
2003 Silverado 4 wd . If you give up easily don't try this job. Remove fuel pump relay, run engine till it stalls . 13 mm. Or half inch box wrench, stand on something so you can reach bolt on back of engine remove pcv valve from valve cover. you have to feel for bolt can't see it . I tied string to wrench and lowered it to other hand and eventually got wrench over stud to break bolt loose. Under truck unbolt front drive shaft at differential and move out of way. Remove lines at tank,I had one line that kept siphoning gas from tank secure line higher than tank to stop . Take tin snips cut old lines . I pulled charcoal canister out to reach lines by tank . Took time to clean out rust and paint frame behind gas lines before installing new lines . The hardest part is the lines above trans. Both taking out and installing new ones . Leave all mounts loose until all lines are in . I did this in my driveway gas fumes not that bad but be careful . Also the new lines come with rubber caps on ends i taped them on . They tend to fall off when installing . Don't want any dirt getting in New lines . ... show more

  • Broken Fuel Line Fix for 00' Chevy
I had a return fuel line break on my 00' Chevy Silverado 4x4 this year, ordered these since they are the most value for the money. Comes with everything for the job, factory clips, pre-bent shaping and adjustability. I would say this is a Medium to Hard level install, as not everything exactly lines up as factory, and does take a bit of massaging to get everything in. These lines are Stainless steel, so they definitely are durable and can take the moving around to get them in the truck. Hardest part of install was to get them behind the engine and in front of the firewall, as it is suggested you drop the front driveshaft and torsion bars, but that is not entirely necessary as you can disassemble the lines and install each hose one at a time. Now the truck does not smell, have any leaks, and everything sits where it should. If I had the extra cash I would spend the money on the braided flexible lines sold by DORMAN, as it would make the install even simpler and less headache inducing. Overall, this kit is worth the money and the peace of mind for safety on the street. Definitely not a SEMA truck, but is functional for the road! ... show more

  • The product might be good, but the installtion is a nightmare!!
This would be a nice product if you could actually install it. While the sectional aspect of the product does help with installation, there is absolutely no way, NO WAY, that the front section can be maneuvered into place. So unless you are planning on either pulling the engine out or the cab off of the truck it is a worthless product. The two-minute instructional video on YouTube is pretty well worthless too. The video indicates a one or two-hour installation time; not even close! There is a mounting bolt apparently on the transmission that must be removed to get the old lines out and subsequently install the new ones. While the video mentions this, it does even show you where it is or how to get it; they conveniently show the removal of a frame screw which even my six year was able to remove. The video was obviously done a relatively new truck because there is no rust and the quick connect clips just come right apart. In reality, I had to purchase both 3/8" and 5/16" couplings, fuel line quick connects, and a section of fuel line to even think about getting this installed completed. Probably a good product but the installation is a NIGHTMARE!! Unless you are doing a restoration, this is not a product for general repair. ... show more

  • Good Quality Kit But Takes More Time To Install Than Dorman Claims
Overall this is a good quality kit and easier to install than the factory one piece set however buyers beware, you will need to jack up the body off the frame on the driver side about 2" in order to install the front section on a 4WD truck. You will also need several extensions and a 1/4 drive deep well 1/2 socket with swivel to access the nut holding the bracket to the transmission(mine also had a wire loom retainer on the bracket). Rear sections went in easy, just don't secure anything to the frame before tightening all the tubing joints. Installation took about 3-4 hours instead of the 1-2 the Dorman video claims. ... show more

  • Buckle. Up.
I’m not sure if I’m a dufus or what but these lines seemed like they were bent by a second person while the first person was describing the shape the lines should be. Granted, they were *close* but I had to muscle a few pieces to make them fit. NOT a job for a weekend warrior without patience and a full toolbox. The stainless seemed to be high quality and the fittings fit together well but the front section especially seemed off. The truck runs but I apologize to my neighbors for the profanity this kit took to install. ... show more
