My '99 Buick Riviera had the common issue of "chatter" at idle coming from the supercharger nose cone section. This fixed it. I was surprised to find that the old one being merely free to slide on and off the gear studs, was enough to make the noise.     • Works with the MP62!
I bought this to replace the coupler in my MP62. My OEM one did not go bad yet but since I was pulling the supercharger to change out the bypass valve, I figured why not since I already put 30k miles on it. I bought it without knowing if it fits or not, but the price is right so I figured it was worth the gamble. The design is a bit different as the face of this coupler is flush on both sides. The diameter is just slightly larger. That should give it a bit more ruggedness. The OEM one has protruding flanges. In my opinion, the Dorman design is a much better. Overtime the flanges on the OEM coupler allows the holes to get elongated. When this happens, it would allow the nose assembly to rotate out of concentricity. This is what causes the noise that you hear. The material on the Dorman coupler is made up of nylon which they claim will last longer. I don’t know how true this is though. My experience with Nylon bushings in the past have not been positive. I have not put any miles with the replacement yet but I will report back if anything goes wrong. ... show more

Works better than the original and better quality than the ones I found at the local auto parts. Also a helpful tip, for when you change this out, GM has approved use of Mobil 1 full synthetic 5w-30 in place of the expensive gm supercharger oil, and it's worked great for me.

    • Worked great. Solves the problem of the noisy rattling from supercharger due to worn out, elongated holes in original coupling.
Worked great. I installed it a year ago and it is still going strong. This will help to get rid of the noise from a worn out one. (Sounds like rocks kicking around in your supercharger cone) Try this before you pay for a rebuilt cone or entire supercharger. These wear out on all these superchargers eventually. Easy enough fix, needs a lot of force to go back on, make it seats all the way. ... show more

Perfect fit on my 3800 Series II supercharged motor, got rid of that 'box of rocks' sound caused by the worn factory part. Very easy to replace, perfect time to change your supercharger oil too!
