You need a 21 mm to put this on. Otherwise, well built except you can't tighten this with box end wrench.

it has saved me at least several washers and drain plugs purchases. i dont know why most drain plugs strip easily but so far this has helped me save money in not buying those again.

I have this on a sports car V8, I small engine SUV and a lifted truck. In all circumstances, the drain is protected from hits from the road or off-road. No leaks Don't get dirty like when getting the bolt off. It won't fall into the drain tank. I did use locktight on the second and the third one I installed I'll add locktight to the first one on the next oil change... everyone's opinion is how it goes for them, these drain twists to stop have worked for me.

Fit my 2004 WJ 4.7, no leaks. I do like this drain. No more dropping the drain plug in the pan, or replacing the plug seal/washer. The seal that came with it fit kinda loose - its ID was larger that the drain OD than I would have liked, but it does not leak. I docked one star only because the spring and detent that keeps it closed is a bit weak and makes me a little nervous. I would have liked to see a stiffer spring or at least a deeper detent. Better yet, both. If she fails or gets popped open somehow, I will update my review 8.24.2020 ***UPDATE*** 9.21.2020 - Not super crazy about how trail dirt accumulates in this drain. It felt super gritty when opening it and in fact was barely draining when opened. Granted a week prior I drove 50ish miles on very muddy dirt/gravel/sand roads, none the less not super thrilled that it hold all the road debris. Knowing the fluid is coming out, and not going in, I don't think the debris will end up in my oil pan. Opening and closing the valve a couple times while the oil pan was still full of the old oil seemed to flush it clean, and it returned to the full drain flow I would expect. I am dropping to 2 stars - It works, but the nature of its design grabs and holds dirt. I don't like all that grit being just a seal away from being in my oil. With a standard drain plug at least I can see the debris and wipe it away before I removed the drain. With a Fumoto drain the seal is not exposed and the spout can be capped off. I probably won't bother to remove the Dorman drain as again, since oil only exits it, it flushes as it drains. But I still don't like how much dirt it holds and I won't buy another one. ***UPDATE*** 10.21.2020 I will also add that by design, it will hold a few drops of waste oil when you are done. If you are parking on nice concrete, you will get a few drips over the next 24hrs, which could bother some. I recall circa 1988 when my girlfriend's Dad just drilled me because my beater leaked gasoline on his driveway. I personally don't care so much - my fleet is filled with drippers and leakers, both mint and rotten, and my driveway isn't going to win the "cleanest in the neighborhood" award..... ***UPDATE*** 11.23.2020. I'm out. 1 star. This oil change it sprayed like a fire sprinkler. Had to lift drain pan to catch all the streams, and it still coated my catalytic convertors and the bottom of the oil pan with drain oil. I'm done. Factory drain plug reinstalled, Dorman drain in the garbage. I gave it plenty of chances....... ***UPDATE*** 08.12.2021. I should note that I replaced this a while back with a Fumoto drain. Absolutely love it. Google them, they surely make one that fits yours. 1/4 turn to drain, positive detent to lock, and an optional plastic clip that virtually makes it impossible to open by accident. Check out the accessories for them too, mine req'd a snap in 90 degree spout to hit the drain pan perfectly.

It's an excellent product and does what it should my only complaint is I actually bought this so I didn't have to torque the pan plug and risk cracking the aluminum oil pan after every oil change however the idea didn't go as planned due to there being no way to remove the silver cap in order to fit a socket on the hex on the product and since the silver cap is actually wider than the hex also so I was unable to use a torque wrench and torque it to spec had to just do it by feel other than that it's a good product

This is so easy to install and is amazing! We recently had to replace out oul pan because the com0any who did our oil change last stripped it out and refused to replace it. Now I know that the oil pan will not get stripped again! This is holding very well and it has been on for a couple seeks already. No oil leaks and was really easy to install. Also easy to use.
