I recently found out that I am going to be an aunt again, so I have already started shopping for the new baby. I have been trying to stock up on ‘essential’ items and one of those essentials are baby blankets. I wanted something gender neutral in both print and color so I decided to order the Donsonny Baby Blanket and it is great! DETAILS: This blanket measures 30”x40” and is made of a plush polyester material. THE BLANKET: This blanket is a really great size! It is big enough that you could cover the baby from wind/rain in a car seat or stroller with it. It is big enough to swaddle with. Because of its size, I think this is a blanket that can last well into toddler years. I picked the light green color because it is gender neutral, and I had ordered some crib sheets that this blanket would match well with. It isn’t so much a light green, but more of what I would call lime green. It’s bright, but not like a neon green. This blanket could be reversible. The smooth side has shiny silver stars and moons on it, while the other side has 3D dots (not a dot print, but a more textured dot design). Both sides of this blanket are super soft. It is a plush, minky material that will certainly keep the baby warm. It is a lightweight blanket, but will work great in chilly weather. This blanket can be machine washed on a cold gentle cycle and either line dried or tumble dried on low. Because of the variety of colors and the star and moon print, I think this blanket would work for any baby regardless of gender. Overall, I think this blanket is a great value for the cost. At the time of this review, this blanket is listed at $15.99. It is a great quality blanket that is well made and seems like it will hold up well with multiple washings. I don’t worry about shedding or fraying with this blanket. Because of its size, I think there are a number of uses for this blanket and as mentioned earlier, can easily be used for a toddler as well. The best part about this blanket is how soft and warm it is! It will keep a little one nice and cozy without being too much. The soft minky material is ideal for a baby’s sensitive skin. I wanted something gender neutral and I feel like this blanket can work for a boy or girl. I would highly recommend this item- this would make an excellent baby shower gift as well! ... show more

I love this blanket. I ordered it in the "Violet" shade, but it's more of a pretty lavender color perfectly soothing for new baby eyes. The color skews gray in some of the photos, but it looks like a true lavender to me. The size is a little under 2.5x3.5 feet, so it's plenty big enough for the baby now, and will be something she can use as she grows over the next few years. The material is very thick and rich, and so far it has washed really well with no loss of the foiled stars and moon pattern on the top. Both sides of the blanket are soft, but the top side is extra soft and minky with the star pattern pressed on it. The other side is soft, but slightly less so. Instead, it has a raised dot texture that presumably helps trap air for insulation. I honestly wish it came in adult sizes, so I could have one that matched. ... show more

A lovely blanket with 2 soft sides. The minky side is softer than the other side, but both are plush and enjoyable. I get these minky blankets for lap blankets for myself. I don't always need a blanket to keep me warm, but often want one to feel comfy on the couch, so these smaller blankets work nicely for that purpose. It also works as a good travel blanket. I got this for my grandson, and it's become one we reach for all the time. This blue Donsonny Baby Blanket with its double-layer dotted backing and adorable star and moon print is simply delightful. The size is perfect; it wraps him snugly and offers a comforting cover for his nights. Its reversible design provides different types of coziness, but either way, the blanket keeps him wonderfully warm and cozy.
