How can Donner deliver such a well crafted instrument for so cheap?!? I’ve been playing guitar for over 40 years and have owned lots of guitars, both cheap and high end. I m a fairly accomplished player and I can tell you that this LP knock off is outstanding! Perfect setup right out of the box, great tone, great feeling neck, nicely finished, and super playable. I really enjoy playing it and still can’t believe the value. If I could give this Donner 6 stars I would. I’m keeping it right between my Cupid and my Blitzen!!!

Great Les Paul copy, well made, good tone and great playability. Came packaged well without any damage and needed minimal adjustments and tuning. Better than my cheap Gibson in many ways and the stock pick ups sound pretty darn good!

I love the build quality of the guitar. I love the pickups and the 9 ways they can be configured via the 3 way pickup selector and the single/dual coil switches. I love good music from every genre and this goes a long ways to enabling me to play all of it on one guitar. You couldn't find a better budget guitar. One nit to pick though. The setup this guitar comes with is passing and just on the right side of "Meh". The pickups are set way too low. The action is a little high, but easily playable. I had a slight fret buzz on a couple frets. The intonation was spot on though. The strings are a little light for this style of guitar. If you are a seasoned player that is used to setting intonation, tress rods, action, and leveling frets, then this guitar is a steal. After all, we tend to change the setup on every guitar we buy regardless. When you can do it yourself, you tend to be picky and highly specific on this things. If you are a beginner player, then I suggest you go ahead and buy this guitar still. You save an easy $100 or more buying this guitar over the more recognized brands. You can get your guitar setup professionally to what you like once you have played it a bit and know what you think needs changed. And then you will have a better sounding and more feature rich guitar than what Ibanez is offering, while still saving a Benny, give or take. Unless you have money to throw as the solution to all problems, then I recommend this guitar. If you do have money to throw at all problems... buy this and a Gibson.

This is a great little LP; looks awesome, sounds way better than it should for this price, well constructed, and fun to play. The frets are surprisingly smooth. My fender strat and Hagstrom viking Dlx (around $1000 each) didn't have frets this clean. I was shocked to see that it shipped in the soft gig bag, in a thin cardboard box, with no foam around it. Mine arrived with no damage at all but I can understand how some of the other reviews show broken guitars. The strap is soft and comfortable, and the gig bag is your standard bag. I haven't used the 10ft cable since I have the Shure cordless guitar system. I'm playing it through a Fender Mustang GTX 100 and it sounds amazing! I added $65 in upgrades to it so far; multi contact output jack, Earnie Ball super locks for the strap, Guyker locking tuners (because their screw hole on the back lined up perfect), and I have a black toggle cover coming today. The guitar and upgrades came to the same price as the DIY kit I almost purchased. Side note: I wanted to keep the Donner tuner knobs but they don't fit over the Guyker shafts. Also the diameter of the new output jack was slightly larger than the jack cover plate. Out of the box I lowered the bridge 1 turn on the screws, tuned it, checked the neck (no adjustment needed), my fretboard was extremely dry (it looked like dog *@#* when it starts to turn white) so I put 3 coats of conditioner on it and it looks/feels a lot better. Over all I'm tickled I bought this thing. I can't wait to throw in some hot SDs!

For the price of night out you get this??? This is an amazing guitar. Out of the box. I’m not a gear head. Or a label person but I have been a musician for over 30 years. When I started budget guitars were garbage. Now…..I mean I’d put this up against some of my favorite guitars I own. I won’t go into the qualifying statements like “it needs new strings” or a setup. I’ve played it out of the box since I’ve gotten it. Any instrument is only as good as the player. If you can play you’ll be floored by this instrument and the deal. If you can’t. It’s a totally great instrument to learn with. And simple and so well made and attractive. I drank the koolaid for so long thinking you needed XWZ guitar or company. It’s amazing how times have changed.

I purchased this guitar based upon all the rave reviews on Youtube. I was disappointed with the overall quality. The pick guard was damaged and Donner customer service was almost non-existent. The frets were very rough and apparently not polished at all. The tone pots were terrible, either full treble or full base, no in between. I purchased with a $60 discount coupon and I am still returning it.
