This bed still has a strong chemical odor and causes eye irritation after 9 months of being assembled. Substance leaching through paint from beneath--don't know if it's toxic--made overseas. Cracks in wood as well. I contacted Donco after being directed to do so by Amazon and they blew me off and did not provide any support at all, rather the opposite--they told me I was not their customer (Amazon's Customer) and were rude. When I contacted Amazon, they said they wouldn't do anything and said I had to contact Donco....and round and round we go. Don't subject your children to whatever chemical is coming off the bed. Even if they allowed a return, getting this bed back in the multiple boxes to ship back is nearly impossible, so it's a total role of the dice, be ready to write it off as you won't even be able to sell at a loss. My daughters (7) absolutely adore this bed! We have had it for 3 months now and it still sparks creativity for them during the day, and relaxation at night. I like that we were able to move the pink slat anywhere along the roof. We chose the side by the fan so we could still have it on and not worry about them accidentally standing up and hitting it!     • Don't let the pictures deceive you, the bed is better looking than what the pictures show.
We all know rustic is in vogue. I honestly believe the bed is better looking than what it shows on the pictures. BUYERS BEWARE: You need two people to build the bed, and don't take confidence on the instructions, because there are many steps missing, but it's easy to figure it out if you follow along. ... show more

We may reinforce the top bunk. We put this in the play room. We plan to attach a slide. So far it's been adored. My daughter pretends it's a hospital for her stuffed animals.
