Shaving creams, foams, and gels have been around for a while, but I never thought I would be awed by a shaving product before I was introduced to this shaving butter. Ever since I grew a short beard, I've always struggled with maintaining neat edges around my cheeks and neck, partly because shaving foam, cream, or gel would fully cover the edges, making it difficult for me to see where I was shaving. The alternative was to wash off the gel or cream and then use the razor, but the shaving experience was not smooth and often resulted in a burning sensation afterward. This shaving butter is translucent, and hence it is a game changer. I have no issues seeing the beard edges now, and I can smoothly glide my safety razor along the edge. It provides a much smoother and more pleasant shaving experience. I recommend using a safety razor and this shaving butter, especially if you shape your beard frequently. ... show more

    • Get a smooth great shave
So glad I finally found a clear shave cream that goes on smoothly and that doesn’t hide the whiskers. I had previously used the Duluth Trading Spit & Polish shave cream that was expensive, but the best I ever used - then Duluth discontinued it. I tried numerous other brands before finding the Dollar Shave Club (DSC) shave butter. It is inexpensive and the only one I found that even comes close to the Duluth brand. Only slight drawback to that the DSC shave butter is that it has a light mint/menthol scent that I wish it did not have. But unless Duluth brings back their shave cream, I am sticking with the DSC shave butter. ... show more

    • Great replacement for kiehls close shaver squadron lotion
Allowed me to see my actual goatee lines while I'm shaving so I didn't screw them up. Shaving lotion works great for in the shower. DSC saved me with this item. Been trying to find a replacement for months for kiehls discontinued product.
