The picture is as expected. I ordered four different colors in a size small: black, green, light blue and pink. I returned the pink only because the color in the picture looked like a paler pink, which I had wanted. Other reviews complained about the sweater being too short or tight and exposing the stomach. As the model in the picture shows, the fit is as described. If you are smaller and/or petite it will fit you very well. Even with a larger chest, it is a very flattering sweater. (When reading reviews, pay attention to the height and weight of the reviewer to get a better understanding of the complaints. This sweater can be dressed up or down, worn to the beach or the boards. It’s very versatile and worth the price. Love this sweater!

I have seen this sweater on a few sites costing MUCH more than here on Amazon, so I was so excited to buy here for less. I read the reviews and they weren't all great, but I still had to try it!! First top I received was NOT the sweater shown. It was a red 1 shoulder top. Yea, not close at all! So I order again and cross my fingers...it arrives, I like the color although brighter than shown (coral color). It is soft and nice fabric, but the fit is AWFUL!! I tried and tried to make it work. It was big & boxy across the chest and where it crosses on the side it gaps open. I thought I had taken a pic, but can't find. Think of an X - that's how the fabric crosses in the front, but with holes under then X's...not sure I am explaining that well. It is also quite cropped. I am 5'11 and this hit above my belly button. Soft and stretchy but runs a bit bigger than other mediums. The sleeves are long and the front of the sweater is short. It’s not terrible but it definitely doesn’t fit as shown.

I ordered the brown in a size small. For reference, I am 5’4 and 115 pounds with a C cup bra, which is all important to know because this shirt does run a bit in the shorter length (not for me but if you are very tall that is something you may want to consider). I like the cross-cross design because you can make it plunge a bit, or not, depending on your preference. The color is more of a heather brown with a mix of white and brown cotton fibers. It is very soft but is definitely NOT a sweater, it has more of a waffle shirt or long-john texture and weight, which is why I have it 4 stars and not 5. I like the way it fits and also that it is lightweight as I live in Florida, so it’s a keeper for me; but if you are hoping for a warm, cozy sweater you may wish to pass on this.

True to size - if you want it to look like picture - size up one. I'm 5'2" 105 lbs and bought mediums. I love it so much I bought 3!
