I have a patch of lilypads in my back yard pond. I had been wading out and pulling them by hand when I thought that there must be a better way. I found a popular aquatic weed cutter online that was out of my budget. Then I came across this one from DOITOOL. I ordered it and soon lost it because my knot came loose. That was my fault. So I got another one. This sure beats pulling the weed in the pond by hand. This is not a professional tool for clearing a big area. All I wanted was to clear a space for fishing in my back yard. i just dont think it is wide enough or heavy enough it just dont take that wide of a path from pond! throw 20 times to clear a 1ft path made my own out of C chanel 3ft wide!

I feed sunfish bits of bread daily and the pads were spreading too close to where I stand. Chucked it out and within 4 tosses, cut them fast. Once they floated, I took a long rake and pulled them to shore. Glad I found the cutter rather than pay much more for a tool I didn't need with a handle that would restrict distance. ... show more
