Was skeptical of the engineering of this kite. The poles seemed as if they would not hold. Turns out that's not the case at all. Even in really strong winds I seemed to relax and trust it more. Poles are very strong. The kite is lightweight. It's extremely big and noticeable in the sky because of it's bright colors. Even when it's high up you can still see it good. It's a DIY kite. Nothing was put together nor does it unfold put together either. It's not for kids. The string handle would be too difficult for a child to grip. I didn't use the tail. It's too long for me. Easy to manage and maneuver when it's up. Doesn't just nose dive in high wind conditions.

Kite flying is something I haven't done for so long, I'd forgotten how fun and relaxing it can be. I haven't owned a kite since I was a kid, so I don't know anything about them, but the material of this kit feels a bit "papery" although I have had no issues with it, so perhaps that's normal. It's quite large and simple to assemble and disassemble quickly. And it looks glorious in the sky, with the long tail and sun streaming through the colors! As long as it's not too windy, it's easy to control and reel in and out with the included spool. Otherwise you may want an upgraded reel. The string is plenty long to get it as high as it needs to go. It's about 40 bucks, and I have done zero comparison shopping, but if you have and feel the price is right, I can recommend this as a fun and easy kite for beginners or more experienced flyers.

The media could not be loaded. This kite comes with kite string wound on a little hand winder but please do yourself a favor and get a kite reel - a kite this big pulls very hard and that hand winder will make it unpleasantly hard to let line out and to reel it back in. Trust me. But I’m still giving 5 stars, this is a striking kite and a good flyer. It has two attachment points, one for low wind and one for high (I had it connected to the lower wind point for the video), it assembled easily and knocks down just as easily, and it’s BIG! That 100 foot tail looks great behind the kite, although it takes a while to wind up after you bring the kite down. You need the tail, though, or the kite will gyrate and be likely to crash. All in all this is a really pretty flyer and I’m very happy with it.

This thing is even better in PERSON! She is a beauty! Extremely large Kite with beautiful colors and assembly is super easy with a couple rods similar to putting up a tent. I cannot wait to get this in the air with the kids!
