I like the fact of the Velcro underneath the belly/upper chest area as well as around the neck. It fits my dog very well and keeps her afloat. I have a Cane Corso Dog breed . They only thing I dislike about this life jacket is the ring for hooking Alicia on the top/back of the lifevest is plastic. I think it would be more durable if it was metal. ... show more

When the dog gets to the larger chest 0f the range for the size (ours is a large) the Velcro flaps no longer reach each other and so the one without the feeds for the straps, floats free off to the side. Makes the whole vest go crooked.

I have a hard-to-fit rat terrier mix. He has the typical wide barrel chest, skinny waist, and skinny neck. Step through life jackets don't work for him. This is a a great jacket. My dog is about 12 ponds, so due to his body shape I ordered the size small. It fits him really well. I feel confident it will provide security in the event it must be used in water. I am comfortable lifting him by the lift strap without worrying about hurting him in the process- the belly strap stays under his chest. It is not 100% perfect, but I doubt I could find something that is due to his odd body shape. I feel this is a good alternative for the typical Italian greyhound/rat terrier breed. ... show more

We let our dog try it out in the pool before we went out on the lake. He doesn’t necessarily like it but it does the job. It’s pretty stiffer
