We have a 60 lb. lab-mix who is TERRIFIED of thunderstorms and fireworks-- she'll even look for a small, dark place to lay when it's about to rain. For the past 2 years, her go-to spot has either been our pantry or underneath my husband's desk. Crazy concept, but my husband needs his leg room when he's working and all 60 lbs. of a scared pup doesn't really allow for that. I found this bed/house combo when looking for a smaller "cave" for our 14 lb. chihuahua mix, and after reading multiple reviews I decided to give it a shot. It couldn't have been scripted better-- the box and a thunderstorm arrived around the same time! We got the bed and house out and put together in 10 minutes max, and the minute my husband took it into his office and got her attention, she quickly scurried from under his desk into her new "cave" and stayed there until the storm was gone. I knew right away that I had made one of my best Amazon purchases ever! I'm so glad that she now has a safe and comfortable spot to retreat to when she's anxious instead of laying on the hardwood floor. She's even added it to her rotation of sleeping spots at night. Dog size: 60 lbs, roughly 28" long and 21" tall Bed/house size purchased: 3XL I purchased the 3XL because I wanted her to be able to stand up and move around inside if she needed to. While it is very large, she has more than enough room and I would still order the 3XL if I had to do it all over again. But for reference, my 6'3" husband can crawl inside with her comfortably. Cons: - shipping took a long time even with Prime - the removable bed on the inside is thin and has started coming apart from her scratching at it; swapped it out with an existing memory foam bed and it's even better than before - wish there were more exterior colors to choose from ... show more

My dogs would go in at first , then they decided to collapse them. They are. 2 big pits so pretty easy for them to do so. After awhile I could no longer get the beds to stand up. Nice product but did not work for us. The dogs use them collapsed. Also foam mattress cover fell apart when washed.

We ordered this at a time where my living room was rearranged for the holidays. With 3 cats in my house and 1 dog, my dog seemed displaced and couldn’t find a place she felt comfortable to take a break (she’s a boarder Collie and also works to help me with our chickens). She needed a space that was just for her so she could have a break and not be bothered by the cats. She wanted nothing to do with it until we got rid of our Christmas tree and could place it in a space in the living room she feels is her space. Now she has claimed her bed/house. Her toys are in there and she uses it regularly. Glad I got it for her. PS occasionally a cat will sneak in and she has remind them that have their own space on the other side of the room. 🤣 ... show more

Purchased this for our dog a year ago who couldnt be bothered with it. Since then its sat in our storage closet. We just adopted a new dog and within 2 washes and a week- it has literally fallen apart at the seems. Super cute but DOES NOT LAST.
