Description

DMI Designer Folding Canes are a best selling adjustable folding cane, lightweight and compact enough to place in a bag or suitcase when not in use but it’s durable aluminum body can easily support up to 250 Pounds. The ergonomic handle is made of black polished wood which is both comfortable and supportive. The slip-resistant rubber tip provides a firm grip on flat surfaces. To provide maximum comfort and support this cane is adjustable in 1-inch increments from 33-37 inches. To properly size: wear shoes and naturally stand upright. Put arms to your side with a natural bend at the elbow. Have someone measure the distance from your wrist joint to the floor. This is the height at which to set your cane. If you don’t have someone to measure for you, convert your height to inches, divide by two and add a half- inch to this height.

Awww. I saw another review saying that the handle on this attractive cane wasn't the brown in the picture. I tried it anyway. Sigh. They were right. It's black and a bit of a downgrade on the look of the cane. What I do like about this cane is that it's foldable, height adjustable, and contains a hint of pattern and color. Not garish. Not solid. But a brown handle would have made it look expensive. Now it's more ... regular? Boring? Whatever, it will still work when I overdo my knees as I do from time to time. The cane tip feels quite sturdy against my hardwood floors so that's always good. ... show more

I got this cane because my physical therapist suggested I needed one. I knew nothing about using/ buying canes, I’ve never had one before. It’s okay, but it could use a few improvements. First, I’m under 5’ so I wish it could go a little shorter. I couldn’t find any cane that would adjust to the correct height for me. I wish cane manufacturers would realize shirt women also need canes! So one more notch to make it shorter would be better. Also, it really needs some kind of a wrist strap. When I need to set it aside (for example, if I’m paying for something at a store), it doesn’t lean well against a counter. It falls and then the handle gets chipped. A wrist strap would solve this problem because it’s constantly falling down when I need to set it aside because I need 2 hands to do something. Since the handle gets chipped so easily, it should really be made of some kind of sturdier material that doesn’t chip as easily. In hindsight, I wouldn’t buy this cane again, I’d definitely look for one with a wrist strap. ... show more

This works well as a basic cane. The part that folds and is nearest to the handle frequently is hard to pull apart, so I often have to leave it unfolded at this juncture, which means it doesn't fit in the plastic ring that is meant to keep it secure. If you're trying to get settled somewhere like a plane and you need to hurry and get settled, it can get frustrating. A loop to put around your wrist, a rubberized handle or a partly rubberized shaft would make this much more convenient. If you have your hands full and need to lean it against something for a moment, there's nothing to stop it from falling over, which I find most annoying. Virtually every time I'm at a counter making a purchase and have to rest the cane against the counter while I get out my wallet and pay, the cane slides from where I carefully placed it and crashes to the ground. Awkward. All this falling causes the handle, which is painted, not stained, to chip away and look worn. The painted shaft is attractive, much more interesting than plain silver or black, and has proved durable after several years. I like that you can match a cane to your personality with multiple options from which to choose. The folding cane is a great concept, but the execution of this one has its flaws. ... show more

I was surprised at the quality of this cane given the price. I’ve been using this for a few months and it’s genuinely sturdy! The bottom rubber bit is wearing away from my frequent use but it’s not bad at all. Impressive for the price!
