Been using this for a few months now, and here is my take-away... - adhesive too tacky (yes such a thing)...everything I initially put in got messed up in some way and in some cases, left the glue ON my project. I has to let it pick up fuzzies to make it less tacky. -its hard plastic, and it cracks/snaps really easily. -THE SMELL OF GLUE. It's strong, my kid could smell it from the other side of the room!! So no, I will not be buying from them again, and I'll stick to the cricut brand until I can find a good/cheaper brand.

For the price, I think it's a deal. However, when I purchase an actual Cricut Mat, they last longer. These mats died on me after a month of using and I had to buy new ones. All I did was print/cut stickers on them. No HTV, Cardstock, just some printable vinyl and sticker paper. That was a real bummer because I use these to run a business. I'd rather buy the regular Mat for the price because at least you can clean/reuse them. You cannot do that with these. Once it loses stickiness, it's nothing but trash. I did buy another set, and if that doesn't work out, I'm going back to the original brand.

I bought these mats as a back up for my cricut mats. I was doing a multi part project so I figured I’d use all the mats to make it quicker - I was wrong. 1st problem - the smell from the plastic/adhesive was so overwhelming that it made me light headed - we had to open a window to air out the room. 2nd problem - the adhesive doesn’t stay on the mat. As I was lifting my vinyl off of the mat, the adhesive came off with it, leaving sticky residue on the back of my project, with no adhesive left on the mat. In the first picture you can see where the adhesive is on the back of the vinyl, and the second picture shows where the adhesive has been removed. I’m just glad that I decided to use these first on a project with removable backing, instead of a paper/card stock project. 3rd problem - these are NOT as flexible as the cricut mats. I normally peel the mat off of the project to avoid curling, and when I tried that with these mats I heard cracking, and they’re brand new. NOT worth saving the $5 over cricut brand mats. The first thing I did after attempting to salvage my project was throw out these mats, and then I ordered cricut ones.

I highly suggest (with any removable adhesive) test it first then adjust for stickiness. It seems a lot of people are expecting perfect straight out of the box. Mine was supper sticky until about 3-4 papers were placed and peeled off. Some paper tore as you can see in other review pictures. Once the initial tackiness wears down, you are good to go. Cleaning was easy using baby wipes and water, tackiness came back but not as strong as straight out the box. Update: I can probably get away with cleaning these mats 3-4 times before they lose adhesion which is fine with me because these are cheap enough. Add the cost into your “Cost of Supplies”. With my Cricut brand mat that came with my machine, I cleaned it twice before I had to replace it to give some reference of my experiences.

I’m not impressed by this brand. I’m a little disappointed by the light grip mats. I’ve purchased the green standard grip mats in the past and thought that they work fairly well. I just bought the light grip ones because I cut a lot of cardstock for paper crafting. Typically I’m able to do quite a bit of cutting on a single mat before I need to wash or clean the mats. I had to wipe down the mat every few cuts in order to get my paper to stick properly and after a few wipes, it seemed that the tackiness of the mat was lost. I will try to give it a good cleaning and hope that my mat becomes a bit stickier, but I lost a lot of time working because I had to continually wipe my mat in order to get it to work properly.

Comparing cricut's mat to this one, it is definitely not as sticky to the touch BUT once the object you are cutting is placed on the mat it will not budge. I used it to cut balsa wood and had no problem. My machine did have a issue feeding the mat due to the mat being slightly thicker, but I just gave it a bit of a push and it slid under the wheels just fine. Overall, not a perfect dupe but I would buy again.

I was able to use these mats for 2 card stock projects before I had to clean them. I used the dollar tree all purpose spray. After I cleaned them, they didn’t seem as sticky or even sticky at all. Card stock was barely sticking to the mats but I still used it because I need to get this done. Well this happened :(
