This little pinball machine is really neat! My 8-year-old son loved the idea of putting it together like a giant LEGO set, although he admittedly got a bit overwhelmed pretty early in the process. This is definitely a project that benefits from having an adult around to help. It took us about 3 hours to assemble, but the finished product is well worth the effort. The machine itself is awesome quality, and it's genuinely fun to play once you get it together. The biggest weak point is the instructions. The included black-and-white instruction booklet is pretty meh. The YouTube assembly video isn't much better, although it did at least show the proper way to install the little rubber bands, which was confusing when I first looked at the paper instructions. Pro tip: Organize everything before you start. We separated the parts into little bowls and labeled the different sizes of rubber bands. Also, if you can lay out all of the cardboard sheets on a table, do it. I stacked ours together and constantly had to shuffle through them looking for the next piece I needed. Having everything spread out makes finding and popping out the parts much quicker. Despite the mediocre instructions, the actual kit is fantastic. It's a fun project to build together, and the finished pinball machine is just as fun to play. My son really enjoyed the building process, and we've had a great time playing with it afterward. The instructions are definitely the weakest part of the package, but they're not bad enough to take away a star from an otherwise excellent kit. 5 out of 5 stars.

If you’re looking for an intricate, hands-on project that will genuinely challenge your building skills, this 3D wooden vintage circus pinball machine is quite the adventure! Right off the bat: be ready for a real hands-on workout! While the box lists it for ages 8 and up, this is definitely not a simple snap-together afternoon toy. Having an extra set of hands around makes the whole process infinitely smoother and way more fun especially when wrangling smaller wooden pieces into place. Pro-tip for the assembly: Skip wrestling with the paper booklet and pull up the video guide instead. Following along visually made navigating the steps ten times easier and saved a ton of guesswork. After about an hour of focused, rewarding work, the circus theme is already starting to take shape, and there is still plenty of build left to enjoy. It’s an engaging, mechanical puzzle that truly tests your patience and precision, but watching the mechanism come together piece by piece is super satisfying. This pinball machine has a charming old timey circus aesthetic that should appeal to anyone who likes vintage‑style designs. Although assembly is required, I wouldn’t classify it as a puzzle, but it is a great STEM project. With more than 160 pieces, building it is fairly involved and definitely demands patience and focus. The printed instructions are helpful, and there are video guides available to augment them. The components are primarily wood, and once assembled the machine is not lightweight. Painting the decorative props is optional; no paint is included, but skipping that step doesn’t affect gameplay. Scoring is based solely on the balls landing in the front slots or bonus channels, so a running counter isn’t really necessary. I haven’t completed the assembly yet, so I can’t speak to how well the machine performs once built. I’ll update my review after I’ve had a chance to put it together and test the gameplay.

This is exactly what I was picturing when I picked this item and I was not disappointed in the least. I can not wait to have my students put this together. This kit comes with everything you need to assemble the Pinball Machine. A big highlight for me was the extra cardboard insert that was included which separated the accessories from the wooden pieces. This ensured that nothing was crushed, broken, or bend during delivery. The wood used is a standard thickness and the pieces pop out easily, but be careful. I've chipped pieces in the past when I was working too quickly. This kit has a similar quality to the Book Nooks I've make in the past. The kit comes with a directions booklet that looks easy enough to follow and I can not wait to see the finished product. Overall, an awesome STEM purchase and the perfect gift for any child/adult over the age of 8!

This kit is a fantastic, highly engaging family project, though you should definitely be prepared for a bit of a complex setup. The instructions are all there and detailed, but it took us a while to decipher. On the positive side, the no-glue design is brilliant, and the finished product delivers tons of fun for game nights with its dual-scoring mechanism. It’s an incredible hands-on learning experience that genuinely teaches kids how mechanical components work together, making the final functional arcade game feel super rewarding. However, the reason I’m docking one star is the build process: there are a massive number of small parts to keep track of, and assembly can be quite intricate and time-consuming.
