  • It really works.
Size: DIC-20
We have pretty hard well water and I've been fighting spots whenever I washed my vehicles. I was skeptical that this would work but willing to try it. It was like a miracle. No spots. No racing to wipe the vehicle with a towel. Just air dry and the surface looks perfect. I'll keep track of the number of uses before I need to refill the resin and report back. ... show more

  • Great product.

Awesome product just wish they wouldn’t use Fedex as their delivery agent, nothing but disappointment from them. Boxes arrived open and damaged, fortunately my filters were not damaged. Wouldn’t stop me from ordering again just be prepared to be disappointed with the delivery delays.

  • Hard water wash system
Size: DIC-20
This is a must if you have hard water. I was shocked that it left absolutely no hard water spots on my car and truck, even on the glass. Well worth the cost. Considering how much you pay for your vehicles, and this helps them last. No leaks. Works very well, and easy to use.

  • Satisfied so far
Size: DIC-20
Portability is great. Solid build. Assembly was straightforward and fairly simple. The resin cartridge housings are a little heavy, and it is tricky to get the supplied housing wrench past the dolly wheels. Maybe I am unaware of a trick to doing this. No leaks. I used the system for the first time yesterday and I noticed a marked improvement in water spotting on my black cars vs straight well water. I suspect that the supply TDS affects results. I am a bit disappointed that resin only has a 1 year lifespan, and I am hoping I'll exhaust the included resin before then as I am curious about longevity in terms of number of washes. ... show more

  • If you have $400 burning a hole in your pocket, this is the Deionizing System for you
UPDATE: After 3 months of use my TDS meter has gone from 000 to 007. I do not have a good idea of how many washes I have on the first two cartridges. I have ordered 4 more bags of resin which I think gives me 2 refills. I've also ordered an inline gallon meter so I can see exactly how many gallons between resin changes. Best I can estimate is I have about 20 car washes (2 cars) and 4 Large motorhome washes. Im assuming I'll get another couple of washes in, so maybe 30 uses and it's about $100 per recharge using CR Spotless resin. So maybe $3 per use? I'Ve been using the DI rinse pretty liberally so far. I think I'll set up a second hose for the initial wash and soap rinse off and just use the DI for a final rinse. Also need to make sure I'm not getting alge growth. I have 2 cars and a motorhome and I like washing them. They are all dark, metallic colors and I don't have a nice shady spot to wash them in. Being in Florida the sun can dry the car surface way before you can dry it by hand, leaving hard water spots that are make the car look worse than when you started. I'd been looking into building my own DI system for a while, but my time is limited and I could not find a good DYI project to copy. Another problem is that DI systems are lost in the noise of all the BS surrounding home water treatment systems which I mostly view as a scams. As usual, I figured the only way to know for sure would be to buy one, try it out and if it just doesn't work, send it back. I ordered the CR systems (the large one) which uses mixed bead deionizing cartridges. The cartridges are replaceable, or you can buy new mixed bead resin for around $40/cartridge. $80 sounds like a lot depending on how often you have to recharge your system and since I just got mine I have no idea how long these will last. Let me get the punch line out first. The system works great! I washed my Honda and Lexus and left them in the morning sun to dry. No spots at all. I washed the fender of my son's truck (dark charcoal) and rinsed it with the CR and let it dry. Then I sprayed about half of the area with normal untreated water and let that dry. See the attached picture for the results. The photo isn't great, but you can see on the left side obvious spots and nothing on the right side. The question of course is how long the systems will last before needing new resin beads. The manual says you should get between 800 and 1300 gallons per charge. We'll see. Another problem I've read about is that if you leave water in the system too long (I have no idea what "too long" means, algae grows and ruins the resin beads). Since I wash cars once a week, I'm hoping this won't be a problem. I also think the life of the beads has to do with how hard you water is and what types of contaminants are in there. I've just installed a new water softener for the house, so I'm assuming this will help increase the life between resin changes. As far as the design and construction of the system itself I'd give the manufacture an A all the way around. The unit is on a nicely built tube cart with wheels. It seems to be very well balanced and I don't think it will tip over very easily. All the parts appear well engineered and built well. The only problem is a slight leak at where you have to install the hose inlets and outlets. The manual says to put at least two wraps of teflon tape on the threads (tape is supplied, and I put 3 wraps on). But water still dribbles out of the connection a bit. I'm going to take it apart and put another wrap or two of teflon and try it again. Obviously this is an "out of the box" review with one day's use on it. I will update as I go. ... show more

  • Amazing but expensive and apparently explosive as well!
Size: DIC-20
I ordered mine back in February of 2022. When it first arrived I gave it a try and though I had just found the best thing since sliced bread when it comes to washing my car. If you live in a place where you have really hard water, like we do in Phoenix, this thing is just amazing. Makes car washing a breeze and cuts down my detailing time almost in half as I don’t have to go back and clean up a bunch of water spots. That was all at the outset and the honeymoon phase didn’t last all that long. I found that after just four washes I was getting a hardness reading well above 0 and started to see water spots. When you wash your car every other week that means these resin cartridges go quickly. I then ordered a set of replacement resin cartridges direct from the company, which mind you isn’t all that cheap. I put the new ones in no problem and was again super happy to be back to no water spots and an easy wash. Lo and behold about 4 washes later and the water spots returned and a high reading occurred. At this point I was on the search for a better solution and a way to get more washes for my money. I came across the RV Mod website that offers a conversion kit for this product where you can skip the resin cartridges and out resin directly in the canisters and get a bunch more uses out of the resin you put in there. I gave that conversion kit a try and it too worked great and once again I was super happy with my CR Spotless DIC-20, even if I had just spent yet another $200+ for the kit and resin. Fast forward to today and I was washing my car and was very happy with the results I was seeing. Car was super clean and I was able to just blow the water off with zero spots. As I continue to proceed with drying my car off all of the sudden there was a huge BOOM in the garage. Scared the ever living crap out of me! I then started looking around and what do I see…the DIC canister has exploded and water and resin was everywhere. Mind you I had the water turned off at the hose bib while I was drying the car so it’s not like water pressure continued to build up during that time. Have absolutely no clue what the actual cause of this was but extremely disappointed in the fact that this occurred, regardless if I had “modded” it to use the conversion kit. Something like that shouldn’t have happened and I’m just glad neither myself or my wife or kids happened to be standing next to it. All in all, a cool product but not worth the cost that the resin refills cost as well as the fact that this didn’t even last me a year before the plastic canister blew up on me. ... show more
