The Diono Carus Complete is the ultimate 4-in-1 carrying system designed to carry children from birth up to 33 lb / 15 kg, (an infant insert is included for babies weighing 7-12 lb / 3.2-5.5 kg). Carus Complete is lovingly engineered for urban adventures, and the freedom to roam, with a detachable pod for baby and a smart weather proof backpack, both of which can be positioned on the front or back of the harness. The ingenious design offers superior back support and comfort in every mode. Unlike other carriers, the method of attachment of the harness doesn't change between front and back carrying as the same pod is used to support baby. Switching is made simple. Good: Well made, great price. Much easier to rig than other carriers we tried that just seemed like a random bag of straps. Bad: Wanted to love this but I couldn't adjust this to be comfortable for me or safe for my kiddo. I'm 6'5". It was far from fitting, you'd probably need to be 6' or less for this to work. Other thoughts: Wipe pocket is a clever idea, but it doesn't really work for cloth wipes. ... show more

I haven't started using it yet, but I tried it out according to the instructions. It seems a little complicated, but I believe it will become easier with a few more uses. I've only had it for a week or so, but I am loving it for forward-facing. Honestly, I had a bit of trouble getting it into the back carry position and gave up. I'll get my husband to help with that at some point and see if we can get it, but the first attempt didn't go well. For the back carry, it's a bit like a hiking carrier, where you load the baby in first and then put the carrier on your back. For the forward-facing position, I absolutely love it. My 8 month-old son seems very comfortable, and I've held him in it for probably over 2 hours at a time and had no back pain. I love that the part of the carrier that goes on your back is more of a solid piece, as opposed to just straps like my other carriers. The materials this is made of are pretty comfortable. The parts that don't touch the baby are made out of material similar to a regular backpack, and the part that does touch the baby is a soft, stretchy polyester over padding. I was worried when I saw that part of it is waterproof that it may be a little rough or noisy, like a winter jacket, but it isnt. My complaints are minimal. The place where you button down the neck support for forward-facing is a bit tight. I think the lower portion of that button should be located a bit higher. The lower straps that go just under the baby's arms seem like they may be a bit uncomfortable if the baby rubs on them too much, but I haven't actually had any problems with it yet. Overall, I really like it for forward-facing, but due to having to readjust everything for the back-carry position, I will probably just stick with my Ergobaby carrier for that. I haven't tried in for inwards-facing, because my son isn't loving that right now, but I bet it would be comfortable. I was on the fence about purchasing the carrier, but I am very happy I did. ... show more
