I have a couple of these digital frames and most of them push you towards an App. This one is no different, only this one offers local transfer with a large SD card if you aren't using the app. No PC transfer, no USBC. So, unless you have one of those stuck in a drawer somewhere, you'll be using the app. It's not bad, it's just a much slower way to do things, and it also gives the app access to your photos. As with anything connected these days, you have to wonder how many of those photos are being used without your permission (AI training, etc). The calendar also wants access to your family calendar, whichever one you use (it has a nice selection of options). It makes sense, but it's still access to a LOT of our data. These are just not issues we have with other digital frames. It works well, and it's easy enough to set up. It just has some caveats that may cause some users concern. Outside of that, the display is nice and bright (can be adjusted), and it's easy to switch between modes (Calendar, Photos, Art Gallery) with a touch. Might work well for older users so the family can add photos on the fly. All in all it's not a bad frame, just know what you're getting.

This is an interesting device. It can be a digital photo frame or a digital art display or a digital calendar. The device can't be all three at once but it is easy to switch between each use. The digital photo frame works very well. Multiple people can send photos to the frame from the mobile app. It is very easy to upload photos. I've used a similar device in the past to allow family member across the country to share photos with our grandmother who doesn't have a mobile phone. There is on issue with the photo frame that makes it less than perfect. It sees the photos on my camera roll but it doesn't have a way that I've found to load photos from Google Photos. There is a Google Photos choice but the app doesn't see all of my photos. If I was rating this device as a digital photo frame it would be a 3 stars. The digital art display isn't that useful for me. The digital art has no configuration other than how long the image stays on the screen. I don't see a way to choose the type of art you receive. The art that was sent to my screen wasn't appealing. I would rate the digital art display feature as 1 or 2 stars. I was most interested in the digital calendar. We have a family calendar that is based upon paper. It is a large wall display where we can all add our events. My goal was to digitize this wall calendar and allow those of us with phones to perform a two way synchronization, i.e. add events on the wall display which sends them to the phone or add events on the phone which sends them to the calendar. In my case, I could add events on my Google Calendar and they propagated to the frame, but the events added to the frame did not propagate to my phone. For my use the calendar was a zero. But, if you were looking for a digital calendar without the mobile synchronization this device would be a good choice. It is easy to use and has the ability to configure it as needed. There is a special calendar for menus which was very appealing. But, in it's current state, it just doesn't serve my needs.
