I've had a multi-year problem with groundhogs trying to dig in next to my house. After significant landscaping damage last year I finally decided to find a permanent solution to the problem and purchased the Dig Defense barrier system. This spring I have a determined groundhog trying it's best to excavate a hole, but it can't get very far. Finally! It does take some digging to excavate a trench to place the product, but in the long run it's worth the effort. Also, note that the metal can be cut to size with a hacksaw. A Dremel would probably work to trim it. I've attached a couple of photos showing where the groundhog tried to dig through yesterday. It would go down about 6 to 8 inches before giving up and trying another spot.

Worked good I have purchased the less expensive options. You get what you pay for. I'm sand and gravel. these drove in good the others fell apart from the hammering them down. well worth the up charge for quality.

These a nicely made and easier to install that I expected. They are extremely sturdy. You can pound them into the ground with a regular hammer without fear to bending them. It made closing off some areas under my shed simple. Cutting requires a good saw or cutter. I used a rip saw and metal blade to quickly cut to length. My only complaint is they are kind of expensive, but I recommend it without hesitation and would purchase more if needed.

I have large dogs that can push under stock fencing, and even chain link (I have an acre in wire stock fencing side on sides/back and high chain link in front). The dig defense product hammers in deeply even in dug areas, does not bend during or after install. To place next to a post set in concrete, I can clip off a few tines with a bolt cutter for a good fit. I then fasten the fence to the steel barriers with zip ties or aluminum fence ties. The first order I installed 5 or 6 yrs ago, installed more a year or two ago. No rust or issues. Great product, heartily recommend by me.

I used these to keep groundhogs from digging under my house. These work 100%, as long as you place them strategically where the groundhogs can't bypass them. Groundhogs are persistent and clever little animals who have outsmarted me numerous times, but it wasn't Dig Defence's fault.

I had a skunk find its way under my crawl space and died. It stunk like crazy for a week or so and cost me a lot of money and time to clean things up. I drove these around the perimeter and have not had a problem since. It took a while to install these because of rocks and roots. I bought a bolt cutter to custom fit these.
