I chose this bulb duster over a couple other models because of the variety of pipes for dispersing varying substances. Not only did it perform great with powdered diatomaceous earth in cracks to prevent ants & insects, but we used it for dust/powder/granules combined! That was the main reason I chose this duster. We are making repairs to some holes in a side porch which over a few years has housed mice, chipmunks, stoats (they killed the chipmunks), ants, beetles (prob came to eat the dessicated chipmunk carcasses) yellowjackets & then flying squirrels (they came to eat the wasps & stayed). As we do not want to kill the little mammals, scaring them away before sealing the holes was the best choice. We wanted a duster to blow in the predator urine granules through the few cracks & holes instead of breaking & rebuilding the whole porch. We also wanted to blow in DE and boric acid for future prevention of ants & other insects. Could we do this all at once? The main reason I selected this bulb duster: We wanted to mix granulated coyote/fox urine with diatomaceous earth, granulated and powdered Boric acid and a few pest-repellant herbs & spices (Colonel's recipe). This bulb duster worked perfectly! The different pipes allowed us to use the granules instead of only the finely powdered DE. My kids set up an IR camera to film the exodus and it was pretty funny. No more critters, seal the holes, plus future prevention of ants/other insects from the DE & Boric acid powder. Where's my chicken dinner?

We recently purchased this duster to distribute delta dust under the aluminum siding of our home. With warmer winters, we have found that creepy crawlers are more prevalent then before so we have taken early precautions to avoid them. Prior to buying this duster we had purchased the cheaper cylinder one with the coil that in visible and you squeeze top to bottom. That cheap one literally lasted for 10 minutes before it stop releasing any powder. So this time I decided to pay a little more and with the great reviews this duster has, I am glad I made the decision to buy it. It is very sturdy and well made. The metallic brass extension is solid as well as the duster body itself. We placed a dime size pebble prior to putting in the delta dust. We used the small funnel provided to fill with the delta dust. ONLY fill half way and make sure the brass fitting/ extension is secure tightly. Shake it a few times and we tested buy squeezing ( make sure to do this away from your face). AND WE WEAR GLOVES AND A MOUTH/NOSE MASK AND EYE GLASS PROTECTION!!!! Every once and a while you need to re-shake it to move around what's inside. And squeeze hard to get a long winded distribution of whatever you're using inside of it. And only fill half with product! Overall a great purchase and extremely statisfied. Just wish I had bought first instead of wasting money on cheape one.

I like the ease of use/placement in my potted plants that sit low in the pot. Avoids getting material on the plants where I don't want it. The funnel is useless for filling unless it's a granular material. Ultra fine materials, like diotamacious earth, don't flow. The clip is a nice touch for hanging it up.

I'd been battling Carpenter Bees for a couple weeks, using the "green method" of Lemon Rinds with limited success. "They" didn't like to, but my wife was soon to pull out the shotgun and go after "them" - a bad move. This "Puffer" was ordered and did the trick. Very helpful was the ling tube that came with it, allowing me to reach far inside - I never imagined how deep they had dug. They Buzzed Like Mad when hit .. but they didn't come out. I puffed a bunch in each hole, then used #0 corks to seal the up. They are gone. Recommended and will by loaning mine to a friend this weekend. On the down side: The little tube was lost at one point - they need to provide "more" as the standard kit to offer that as an add-on upsell, or aftermarket offering .. they could also include a "Rock, Marble, or Penny" to store it up - I used a rock - it was "OK", but probably not optimal. If they provide one it would probably be the best site/shape etc. But 4 stars ... only because replacing the little tube slowed down the process considerably.

I have used this duster bulb only once and only to spray Deltadust into carpenter bee holes in wooden fence post. It worked as expected. I really think this is a quality bulb. Here's a tip for those who lose the very narrow tubing piece: I lost this piece halfway through the job. I went to the hardware store and bought two pieces of plastic tubing. I got one piece of 1/8" inside diameter and one piece of 3/16" inside diameter. I inserted the tapered tip that came with the bulb into the 3/16" piece of tubing and inserted the 1/8" piece of tubing into the 3/16" piece. This worked perfect for me. So, coming out of the duster I have: first the tapered tip that came with the duster bulb, then 2 or three inches of 3/16" tubing and lastly 2 or 3 inches of 1/8" tubing. I'm coming for you, carpenter bees!

Nicely constructed - looks like it will last forever. Downsides: when puffing dust, it leaks from around the fill plug as well as through the application tube. Most of the tubes are rigid; those that aren't are too thin and short to be of much benefit. There aren't any instructions regarding how the various components of the applicator tube pack go together. After use, the cap for the applicator tube outlet on the fill plug does not fit tightly and tends to fall off. Other than that, I was able to puff deltadust up under the siding at the base of my house. If the deltadust information is good, this should kill the persistent wasps' nest I've been battling here - the opening they are taking advantage of is too low to the ground for traditional wasp sprays to be useful. This bulb and its selection of tubes coupled with my imagination for assembling them allowed me to puff the dust up there and, therefor, is "good enough".
