I purchased the DEWENWILS Extension Cord Storage Reel with 4-Grounded Outlets specifically for use with my electric pressure washer around my pool area, and it has proven to be exactly what I needed. Safety was my primary concern when dealing with long extension cords near water, and this reel delivers on every front. I own and owned multiple types of Extension Cord Reels and, within the portable range, this has proven to be the best one. Holds/fits/accommodates up to a 12G 100' cord which is great to support multiple appliances plugged into the 4 GFCI outlets. The frame is metal making it much sturdier than "plastic" ones. The cord guide really helps keeping the cord tightly, tangle-free when rewinding the extension cord. Depending on the type of male plug on the cord, it may even lock into the the wire guide which helps in maintaining a taught wind. When reeling/winding the cord, the carry handle makes it much easier to keep the reel in place when spinning the take-up wheel. This is where you will appreciate the cord guide. Of course, the handle is great for carrying since a 100' lager gauge extension is not "light" once spooled into the reel. Overall, happy with purchase. It is a little more money than others but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for and in this case, the value is there.

TLDR: I like this reel and it works for my intended use, which is light duty. I don't think it's "heavy duty" enough for hard daily work. The item title and parts of the description are incorrect. The reel has a 15A circuit breaker as opposed to the stated 10A (see video, it runs fine around 15A and trips when I add a load bringing it to 20A+). You can also fit 100ft of 12/3 cord on the reel if you wind tightly. Full Review: This is a review of the Dewenwils orange cord reel (ASIN: B08JGJNTYD). This manufacturer also has a seemingly identical yellow reel (ASIN: B091G97LWB), but I got orange because my cords are orange. I was confused as the yellow reel item title says it has a 13A breaker, while this item title says 10A. However, the yellow and orange reels cost the exact same, and if you read deep down into the product description it says somewhere that this orange reel has a 15A breaker. Then in the Q&A section the manufacturer seemed to confirm that it was 10A. Given this variety of information about the breaker rating, I was understandbly hesistant to make a purchase. I figured I would test it and return if it was 10A, because even a basic vacuum cleaner pulls more than that. With only 10A there would be no point to having 4 outlets if you're planning to use a couple of average power tools at the same time. When I received the reel I saw it is even labeled as having a 10A breaker, but live testing revealed that this isn't true. The video is me testing my reel with a Killawatt meter: apologies for the loud noises, but that's power tools for you. I've got the meter plugged into the 20A circuit in my garage, and a 100ft 12/3 AWG extension cord running from the meter to the reel. From there I plugged appliances into the outlets on the reel. I start out running my ShopVac (around 10.5A), then added a heat gun to bring the total to just over 15A. The meter starts flashing because it doesn't like measuring above 15A (standard household circuit). If the reel had a 10A breaker it would have tripped at this point, or it may have even tripped running the ShopVac, but it doesn't. I then switch on my air compressor which quickly brings the load to 20A+ and trips the reel: the load drops to 0 and you can hear the ShopVac and compressor stop. And yes I can hear you in the back: though the load exceeded the rating on the garage outlet wiring, it tripped the reel first. I did not have to reset the breaker switch for my garage. The build quality of the reel is not what I would call "heavy duty." The stand is metal but the reel itself is plastic, including the winding knob. I can see that knob breaking off easily if you treat it rough. The reel itself is very light: shipping weight marked on the box was 1.8kg=3.96lbs. Adding a cord gives it some weight, but it is still going to slip and slide around as you're pulling the cord out. I don't think it would stand up to harsh daily use for very long, so I don't think it should be labeled as "heavy duty." It will work just fine for light duty tasks like backyard projects, providing power to workbenches, seasonal lighting/inflatables, neighborhood potlucks, or occasional yard work. My intended use is light duty so this is not a big deal for me, but I would not recommend this to contractors. As another review stated, I was also able to get 100ft of 12/3 cord on this reel. You cannot just casually roll up that much cord, but if you keep tension on the line and feed it evenly, it will fit. I believe the recommendations for cord lengths by the manufacturer are for quick casual rolling, and I would trust them for that purpose. Overall I like the reel since it's got a 15A breaker and fits my longest cord. It works for my intended use, but I've knocked off a star for the breaker rating confusion and the "heavy duty" misnomer.

Great product. Unfortunately my giant extension cord was larger than I thought. I thought it was 75 foot. Its a 100 foot. I can say, the 1st 75 feet roll up quite nicely. The last 25 feet not so much. Lol. But I still have 100 feet of heavy gauge cord rolled into it. Had i bought one to fit the size cord I own, I still think its a great product. While it works wonderfully, its slightly unstable. Tends to be a bit hard to crank once it gets more than halfway loaded. But still easier than trying to roll up 100 or even 75 foot cord. Wish it had USB ports built in. But I love the on off switch built in. Quite helpful.

I originally ordered this on spec, since how the reel terminates wasnt shown (hard wired or plugged). Turns out you plug the electrical extension into the reel, place it in the attached guide (which other reels dont seem to have) and reel it in very easily. It easily held a 100 ft extension cord. I found this reel so well manufactured and useful I have ordered a second, probably of many. Just think how professionally a cable needs to be coiled (the over/under process, NEVER around your arm/elbow) it is much more efficient to use these reels. As a video production professional, the time saved in the many reels of a very long cables saves considerable time and serves to protect the cable from damage extending the useful life of expensive cables. I have purchased now two of these and will be buying more in the future for all our long electrical cables. In addition to a reel, this also provides 4 electrical outlets, an on/off switch and reset switch saving having an additional power strip.UPDATE- liked these reels to much I just purchased a third one. Remember theses are plastic, and while perfectly suitable for normal use, dont heave them in the back of a contractor truck and assume they will work, if then you should have bought the $140 steel modeling Update: purchased my third cord reel. It arrived in a amazon BAG not its original box, also missing the separately to install crank handle. Returned for a replacement and Amazon provided a replacement at no charge.

Get a better quality one if can afford it. Bought this because I was tired of my SO always leaving the cords tangled after doing yard work. I get it, you're tired and that's legit, but it makes it difficult for whoever uses the cord next. Also leaving it filthy but that's not relevant to this product. So, as an attempt to deal with the "why does it matter if you don't over/under the cord" discussion, which of course is just Too Much Trouble for him to do, I thought I would try one of these reels. So you do have to plug in the pointy bits (male end) into the reel, which means that this is not suitable for things like a weed whacker or lawn mower that has a very short cord. It would be awesome if someone made a unit where the reel can stay close to the outlet and you spool off the other (female) end, but if such a thing exists I haven't found one. Please leave a comment if you know of this! So as to this product itself: I have not yet tried it to see if it works. However, winding my 50ft extension cord was more of a pain than I expected. The little knob you use to turn the wheel is likely to break. It's pretty cheap feeling, very plastic, held on by one Philips screw (which you have to attach yourself). The place you out your cord in to "guide" it is just a slot similar to how you put keys on a keychain. There's no guide, unlike those expensive hose storage containers where you can wind up the hose and it will lay it neatly on the wheel. (Another expensive but very worth it storage thing.) No, this one requires you to make sure the cord is not already tangled up and that you have to sort of pass it over your legs to create enough slack so you don't put any strain on the little knob. It's pretty stiff to use and there's an ominous popping or crackling sound where the plastic lets you know that somewhere down the line this dude is going to have to be replaced. I suppose you get what you pay for though. There are holes behind the stickers on the front that expose the sticky bit of the sticker. I'll probably dust it with some baby powder or something to keep it from getting gooey and passing onto the cord, or just take the stickers off. I have a cord wheel for a shorter extension cord I got at Home Depot while away on a gig. It's inside use only but it's so much better designed. This dude does not send confidence or long term investment vibes. It'll probably break within a year of weekly use, so I'll be looking for a Black Friday special on a much sturdier brand. Maybe something with a cord guide and/or an auto retract function.

This reel works very well and has been the solution to organizing my tangled mess of extension cords, I highly recommend. I have 2 of these so far, and use them almost daily doing outside work. I simply plug it in and walk out of the garage unspooling as I go, when done I just reel it back up and there is no messy cords lying around my garage.

This has sped up time using my pressure washer, shop vac, pretty much anything that I need to run power to outside. Very easy to set up and had held up great to a lot of different use (and users!). Stores away very easily; great value for the money.
