I now own three of these totes and I really like them. They are very sturdy, roomy, the color I like (black) and with just a "hint" of yellow to go along with all my tools. I use them to hold specialized tools. One currently holds all of my Kreg jigs and accessories, the second holds electrical test equipment and supplies and the third will be for woodworking measuring devices and machine setup electronics. It is your basic tote, with a swivel handle that folds down enough to allow another tote to be stacked on top. And here is where I see the only spot that I think will possibly be troublesome down the road. The yellow clamps at the side of each tote are nothing special, not like the latches you find on DeWalt plastic tool cases. These are just a piece of plastic that has a protruding "nub" at each end which is captured in a hole in the tote. When you stack these, you have to move the latch outward (or maybe that is because they are new and stiff?) to allow the nesting tote to drop into position. When you want to release it, you press outward on the latches and lift the tote. The only problem is with the nubs; if you have reason to stack and unstack these a lot, that nub (being at the end of the only moving part) might wear prematurely. Or not. The front of the tote has a clear plastic cover where you can slide a tab that labels what the tote contains, handy for if you stack more than a couple and need to know which tote you are looking for. When you receive your tote, you will see a white "card" lying in the bottom. Don't throw it out; it is a perforated card that you use to make the labels to place under the clear plastic. Another concern not really addressed in the description is the feature down inside the tote; this is the tool holding rack. This is plastic also and since it would have been impossible to make it and tote in one mold, the rack is removable. It snaps in and out of position. In the picture I show where at the bottom of the tote is where the rack snaps in place. Just push a screwdriver in the slot to release the tab to take out the rack. Now you have an actual side that is usable space. I really like the totes and might end up with a couple more. The warning is that they are such a size that you might really load them up and then they are a pretty hefty haul. Also consider that anything you put into it tends to be lost in the great well of all that space. You might need to compartmentalize some things so they don't get lost.

Good for indoor storage like garages or vans. Not tough or weatherproof for outdoor use. I bought the whole TSTAK boxes and they seem pretty good for its price. This tool tote isnt very big for me, and I like to carry my power tools in their own cases anyway. I could probably fit 2 large drills, a couple of extra batteries and a charger... which isnt a whole lot tbh. I do like that it has a screw driver rack where i can place hand tools. It helps fill in the empty space. The side latches are a bit annoying on this particular tote. Theres an issue with clamping this box with other Tstak boxes because there is too much flex on this box. Other Tstak boxes latch on fine since theyre more solid. I would recommend the heavier duty tool boxes for contractors that work in construction. For many of us non professionals its fine. I personally use this TSTAK system to store car tools and smaller tools. I do have the need to carry heavier duty tools, but I can see that this box isnt designed for that. I would go w/ dewalt's thicker tool boxes for that.

I needed a box to replace a 5 gallon bucket I was carrying stuff to the job site. This is great. Has a nice sturdy handle. It’s wide, so I can get stuff out of it ..bulky stuff. With the 5-gallon bucket, it seemed like everything I needed was always at the bottom of the bucket, blocked by everything on top. I’d pull on something and snag everything else, and dump the whole contents. Now with this, it’s a wide basket type thing. I can see everything and root around in it without dumping everything. There is a little rail for some hand tools to slot into inside. It’s generally a sturdy and large box for putting odds and ends in. Also, it works with the Dewalt stacking system…so you can snap other things on top and lock them together. I got another Dewalt tool bag that snapped to this. Fold up the flaps on the side of this box and they’re now one piece. Great for putting on a dolly or just stacking them solidly.

Bought one to try out. Some of the reviews were pretty harsh, but wanted to give it a try. I've used it several times now carrying my tools to/from the garage to work on the car and build a shed. Has been very convenient and holds the tools I need to get the job done. Made of hard plastic and the handle is sturdy, just don't overload the box (there is a recommended weight limit). So far, I have not had a complaint. Some of the comments are a bit over the top (especially the environmentally unfriendly packaging! No mention of the product only the shipping package. Honestly, the cardboard box it came in now holds some storage stuff in the garage and I used the plastic bag the box was in to waterproof some cloth items in the camper storage compartment). Planning on buying 2 more since they are stackable. (Also, need a couple more boxes and plastic bags!!)

these feel slightly cheap but good for price... milwaukee is crazy more durable. let’s say it feels lifetime but stupidly over priced for their pack outs. but as they say, “we’re not that rich to keep buying and buying the same item”. buy it once and forever, they feel like they can last anywhere from2/3 - 10 years and some maybe even 20 for light storage and carrying rarely. however when they are stacked up and loaded with tools and supplies they feel a bit floppy and flims for what i’d expect from dewalt. their other clear cover stack lockable organizers feel way sturdier than these y-stacks. so if you drive like me in a work van or sprinter or even truck and this boxed isn’t put apart or strapped good. it will snap and i’m sure the locks will rip off with plastic to be unused in stacking. as for milwaukee their boxes slip in on a ton of locks integrated into the lid shills themselves and is super reliable. and plastic is solid everywhere. but hey. they are way cheaper and i will give them a try

I am a painter and was looking for a good sized, sturdy art box to hold my paints and supplies. All the art boxes I found were smallish, thin plastic, and EXPENSIVE! Apparently they haven't heard the phrase "starving artist" or maybe art supply costs are why we are starving! Either way, I wasn't paying that price. I decided to look at tackle and tool boxes, and finally came across this awesome tote. EXACTLY what I was looking for. It is good sturdy heavy plastic and it has a handle that folds down when not needed. It also has slots on the inner side to hold tools like screwdrivers and wrenches, but I use it for my brushes, paint knives, pencils, etc. The middle area is nice and roomy for my paint thinner jug, paint tubes, palettes, etc. I now see this may stack and lock together with another tote. I just might be buying another!
