  • Precision and Power in One Compact Router!
Style: Router
The DEWALT DWP611 Fixed Base Router is a compact powerhouse that has quickly become an essential tool in my woodworking arsenal. This router packs a punch with its 1-1/4 HP, 11-Amp motor, and its variable speed trigger, making it a versatile and precise performer. One of the standout features of this router is its compact size, which not only makes it highly portable but also easy to maneuver in tight spaces. Despite its small footprint, it doesn't compromise on power. The 1-1/4 HP motor can handle a wide range of routing tasks, from edge profiling to dado cutting, with ease. The variable speed trigger is a game-changer. It allows for fine-tuned control over the cutting speed, which is crucial for achieving clean, precise cuts on different materials. Whether I'm working with hardwood or softwood, this router effortlessly handles the task. The fixed base design is simple to use and offers stability during operation. The clear sub-base provides excellent visibility, so I can see exactly where I'm cutting. Changing the bits is a breeze, thanks to the spindle lock and the large, easy-to-reach button. DEWALT's reputation for durability and quality is upheld in this router. It's built to last and withstand the demands of a busy workshop. It has become my go-to router for various woodworking projects, and I have complete confidence in its performance. In summary, the DEWALT DWP611 Fixed Base Router is a superb combination of power, precision, and portability. If you're in the market for a reliable router that can handle a variety of tasks with ease, this router is an excellent choice. • Great router, much lighter than 1/2”
Style: Router
I used this for first time today. Bought in July 2023. Other than turn it on make sure it works, I haven’t used it. Today I bought some 1/4” bits. This thing is WAY easier to use vs my 1/2” bosch 2.5hp that needs two hands. It’s a beast! This smaller router I can use one hand to do my work, which is 95% roundovers. It starts up slow, a good thing because last thing you want is instant on in a router and it flying to your face/arms/legs etc. nope. I’d buy this again, don’t mess with ridged, craftsmen, or go to harbor freight. Only router I find as good as this is the Milwaukee 1/4” but since I have a lot of dewalt, I went this route. You’ll like it. ... show more

  • A Superb Router
Style: Router
I should have bought this router a long time ago. Never did thinking Dewalt was overrated, overpriced and made for the pros. Was I wrong…The Dewalt palm router has power to spare, you can barely feel it in your hands and the price is right. Dewalt is Deboss.

  • Great little router
Style: Router
First of all I have a couple of other routers so I'm not looking at this tool to do everything. I've done some high pressure laminate with this router and the edge is perfect at max RPM for this router. I've done a few pattern cut outs with it and the 1 1/4 HP motor has a bit of power to it to do some basic routing as well. I might recommend this as a starter as it is easy to control, easy to keep square with the work piece and quite versatile. The size and weight were pretty nice in my hands, I'm not sure why people would call this heavy or too wide. I found the base to be a little awkward for the type of work it is most likely to do. A square base all around might do better, but the base is rounded in the back of the housing which means you need to continuously have to keep rotating it to keep the square part on the work and get more contact surface. All real routers require this as the handles have to be perpendicular to the work but the Rigid and Bosch models in this area have square bases that are square on all four ends allowing you to quickly go over an entire square keeping the router on the work and not having to rotate it at all. I like this better than the Bosch and Rigid for the depth control the weight and the overall grip. I also think this Dewalt feels better built. I do like that the Rigid comes with a case, edge guide and bit for lesser price. Given the choice between the two I still would opt for the Dewalt in this particular case. I wouldn't say this thing is perfect, but it is pretty darn good. I'm happy I purchased it and I see this router doing nothing but good work for me in the future. ... show more

  • Easy to adjust and install bits
Style: Router
Stipulation, this is my first router. I like how simple and easy it is to do a depth adjustment. It takes one quick disconnect clamp and 2 spring clips to take the base off so that bits can be installed/removed easily and it came with a 17mm wrench for bit replacement. As a first timer I practiced on some scrap wood and within a few minutes got the hang of it. Glad I bought this one, I think buying a cheaper router would have made it frustrating. ... show more
