I was looking for a versatile and portable tool to carry in my truck for cutting apart things when I'm trash picking. I've been using DeWalt tools for years now and know I can always trust their quality. The kit was a bargain compared to what I would have paid in the big box store. While the battery it comes with is small, I don't really need a lot of run time between charges and the reduced weight of a small battery is nice. A must have tool! DeWalt is a trusted brand so you can't go wrong. This tool is so handy and versatile that you can use it almost for any project. Love the variable trigger speed as I can start out slow till I am set and go full speed the rest of the cut. The added accessories are a plus with a nice storage case. While DeWalt is not the cheapest tool, it is better to spend extra on quality that will last vs some cheaper knockoffs. ... show more

    • A great DeWalt tool with common swappable battery
Most of the tool manufacturers are putting all of their R&D money into cordless tools and it shows in the progress they have made in power output and battery tech improvements. I have the corded and cordless version of this tool and while they are both great, the cordless version is the one we reach for daily. It's nice to be in a single durable platform like DeWalt, they make good stuff and the 20v batteries are interchangeable on a series of tools. This tool is powerful so you have to have strong steady hands or use the (included) guide tool. Amazingly versitile tool. Easy to handle. Cuts through 2" lumber like a hot knife through butter, which surprised me. I've also used it to cut metal flashing. Probably the best tool for flush-cutting screws that stuck out too far, where a Dremel won't fit. Some say it isn't great fir detail sanding but I thought it worked great on a cabinet I just made.
