  • 5.0 out of 5 stars !
I've used this to paint four cars now. I know it's not the most expensive in their line up but it still very nice. I've used cheaper paint guns and they don't compare with this gun. I found it is easy to take a part and put back together. I've noticed that the fit and finish on this gun is very good. Of course all I have to compare it to is two of my old cheap guns. The trigger pull is smooth and it atomizes the paint perfectly. To boot it came with three different sized tips. The neighbors saw my paint jobs and now want their cars painted. So far I've told them I'm too old to keep this up. SO NO! I bought this for my own car and have only painted my relatives cars. I still haven't gotten around to painting my car yet but I'm still recovering from all the work that goes into painting. What I loved the most about this gun is if you use it correctly it gives professional results. The biggest difference between this and a cheap gun is that it doesn't leave behind orange peel. Until I used this one I couldn't figure out why I was getting mediocre results. I have now learned it has a lot to do with how the gun atomized the paint. What a difference. I now feel like a pro although the pros are way better than me. But this paint gun did make a huge difference. If your going to use expensive auto paint you might as well get a great paint gun. This gun is well made and stood up with consistent results every time. I would recommend if you want your paint job to look great!! I hope this company keeps up the good work!!! ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Nice gun, but it is NOT perfect out of the box... needs finessing
First of all, I will say that I was looking for a base coat gun and did not want to break the bank since I invested heavily in my clear coat gun. I switched to multi gun setup as I was tired of cleaning between BC and CC constantly. Anyway, I picked up this gun and decided to run a test on a panel to determine the proper settings after reading some of the reviews. The thing I will say is that I am not sure if it was because of my air source but for the best results I tuned this gun down on inlet pressure to achieve the best results. It took some finessing but I have finally gotten the gun dialed in where I can lay really a really nice surface and even clear coat with minimal orange peel. But that was NOT the case right out of the box. First of all, I highly recommend cleaning this gun before initial use. It really needs a strong cleaning (mine did). Second, I recommend you dialing the air inlet pressure back some and adjusting the fan settings accordingly as this was the biggest eye opener for me. I was surprised at how different the settings were as compares to the Tekna Pro, the Gti, and other manufacturers that I tested. Again, I say this because I had someone tell me they did not like this gun after 2 uses without spending the time to learn the settings and "dial" it in. That said, I agree with many others that have posted, this gun can lay some nice paint and even clear coat. If you are on a budget and need a quality gun that will give you options with the tips I would say this is a great gun to consider. I also had similar feelings about the Gti as well (It is more money but the quality is higher too). Last piece of advice is IF you are not getting optimal results initially be patient and make some adjustments to see what differences are made. Make notes of the settings that yield the best results and I am sure you will enjoy this gun! ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Great gun for beginners like me
I’m a weekend restorer, and am working on rebuilding a CoPart salvages 2014 Scion tC. Body shops wanted $300 to repaint the front bumper and side skirt I needed to replace, but instead I bought this for $217 here on amazon and then with paint and supplies, still came in under that mark. “Teach a man to fish...” I did a lot of research for an easy to use, beginner friendly paint gun that wouldn’t break the bank. These reviews here plus The Gunman reviews on YouTube led me to this gun. And boy I could not be happier. My first gun sprayed horrible and the clear was pretty bad. I did, in my newness to this skill, mess up by not noticing I was spraying base with the 1.3mm tip, so the base coat did not match factory base pattern, but it is hardly if at all noticeable. Next time I’ll be sure to use the 1.5mm for base I was painting outdoors at about 62-64 degrees F and so it was a bit on the chilly side for paint. Using medium activator for my Euro clear, it laid down wet but had a horrible orange peel effect to it. I reduced PSI to about 12-15 and laid another layer that went better, but still showed orange peel. I think I was spraying too far away and going too fast. The great news is that because it was so cold and because I was using medium and not fast activator, the clear laid out and became super smooth. All in all, I love this gun and how it sprays and how forgiving it is to a beginner like me. ... show more

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars Came missing a seal
Edit: After fixing the missing seal the gun worked flawless. Never been able to lay such a flat coat of clear with any of my other (cheaper) guns. Outside of the initial headache, the gun sprays nice and even, and the ease of cleaning is great. Used to take 15 mins or so to clean the old gun, this one I can get cleaned out in less than 5 with some cleaner in a squirt bottle or squeeze bottle. Unbeknownst to be the gun came missing a seal on the fluid tip. Much anger and wasted material later I finally disassembled the gun and realized there was no nylon sealing washer under the fluid tip. Only reason I even noticed is because the other tips had one in the box. Ill update the review if the sputtering issues are solved. Too angry right now to spend another 2 hours sanding and prepping for repaint. Just go over this thing with a fine tooth comb when you get it, apparently I either got a used one or the QC is terrible at the factory. Other than the sputtering issue, the gun is very easy to clean and use, the regulator seems decent quality and the whole gun has a quality feel to it. Like I said ill update if the issues are gone, the lacquer thinner spray test worked ok after the fix, but ill have to try with some material to be sure. ... show more
