  • Full features in a smaller size
Color: Ocean-midnight Size: One Size
Being a petite adult, I often find good values buying the equivalent kid's sized version of things. I physically tested this pack out in a local store along with several other models and brands before buying on Amazon and was impressed that the manufacturer did not skimp on features just because it's the "kids' version". Lots of storage and smart layout of pockets and overall organization design. The height is adjustable "for growing children", however at the tallest setting it's a perfect fit for a 5'2" adult. The waist strap is very comfortable and adjusts well. The top straps that adjust the angle the pack sits on your back were easy to use. Would absolutely recommend this pack again. ... show more

  • Kids pack shoot out. Osprey, Deuter,Gregory
Color: Ocean-midnight Size: One Size
This is a great backpack, its blue and orange and well made. I ordered 3 different packs Osprey, Deuter, and Gregory, all in the 40l range. The Deuter was a strong 2nd the shape/ fit was great easy to set the torso adjustment and hip belt was the widest of all of them. What made it 2nd. The back panel/frame is a sheet of plastic, there was no real air gap between the pack and back. As for size of user. This pack will easily fit a very wide range of kids. Both my 7y and 10y fit this bag, my oldest is on the petite side and had room to grow but was not on the smallest setting. ( 11" torso) Also to add this bag does offer a hip belt zipper pocket The Osprey was are #1 with the build construction of an adult pack and supper easy fit adjustment, but it does have a few slight down falls also. ... show more

  • Awesome backpack
Color: Ocean-midnight Size: One Size
Bought this for my big 8 year old. It fits him well at the smallest settings. He will definitely wear this pack for a few more years. It has all the great features of a larger pack, just smaller.

  • Capable but Limited
Color: Ocean-midnight Size: One Size
A great little backpack. The shoulder strap/load lifter setup is very nice. Deuter says it’s for backpacking but space is a little limited even for an overnighter. The side pockets ought to be a touch deeper. My son used it for two nights and the pack was full with just the sleeping bag (25* bag). Tying the sleeping bag to the outside would throw off the balance of the pack. Full main compartment means water has to go on the outside in one of the little side pockets. At least there’s room for a Lifestraw. Look for a 50L pack or larger for a better backpacking capabilities. If I was looking to go ultralight I would look into making my own pack instead of expensive options like this. ... show more

  • Amazing pack.
Color: Cranberry-steel Size: One Size
This pack is the real deal. My child is 6, average height/weight. This pack does fit him but it is just a little too heavy for him this year, so we’re holding onto it for next year (and all the years after). As a 5’4 woman this pack can be adjusted to fit even me with my short torso. It’s so simple to adjust and feels great on. Plenty of straps on the outside for poles, sleeping bag, etc. This bag is well worth the price and I expect it to last for many many years and hopefully multiple kids. ... show more

Color: Ocean-midnight Size: One Size
I bought this for my son for scouting camping trips. He is currently a Webelo and will be hopefully going to Boy Scouts. Solid pack and it fit him well, very good construction. My wife and I had to go on separate camping training trips on the same weekend and I gave her my full size Kelty pack and I took this one on my trip. I was able to get all my gear in it I needed for the overnight and the pack was relatively comfortable on me. My son is excited to use this one our upcoming summer camping trips! ... show more

  • This pack would be great for younger kids
Color: Ocean-midnight Size: One Size
This is a quality pack, but a little too small for my 12 year old son. This pack would be great for younger kids. For a 12 year old I suggest an adult pack as he can grow into it. The shoulder straps are adjusted as high as they can go, and the pack is barely big enough for him.
