I left pretty much the same review for the matching desk. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the panels/laminate and the hardware that was included. Is it perfect? No. However, at this price point I think it's a great value. The assembly was relatively easy and well-designed. **NOTE pay attention to panel H1 vs H7; I made the mistake of using one in place of the other which lead to (a little) extra work. Most of the panels are particle board while the horizontal surfaces (top and bottom panel) are MDF--all covered by laminate. I purchased this with the matching desk and they make a great combo. The cabinet hardware is the weakest part of this set. The catches are cheaper plastic (coming attached like a model) and don't line up perfectly. The handles look nice, but the holes for the screws are a little large, so you can see edges of the holes when the handle is installed. Overall still very happy with this purchase. ... show more

This is a lot better than the other unit on Amazon that looks identical around the same price by a different manufacturer. These sit flush to the wall see photos. The bracket sits inside the the outside frame. The hooks will be flush to slide onto the bracket. When mounting 2 side by side. I had to put them side by side and measure it out perfectly for the space in between so they will be flush together. People complained about the doors not being lined up. See photos. The hole itself is longer for space on top and bottom. Leave screw a tad loose and align the doors then tighten. The hole is elongated just for door alignment. It’s wood. The inside pieces that separate the compartments do not go all the flush to the wall. That is because the bracket wall rail is flush to it. And it makes it nice for cables to run inside. I cut out a piece to fit a power strip. See photos. I have wireless headphones, hard drives, digital camcorder, usb hub, router all ran inside and hidden. I drilled a 2 inch hole on the bottom and the top. Got white plastic cable caps. I ran hard drives to the WiFi router on top for a better signal. Take your time. Line it up and it’s simple. It’s only wood. Make yourself an usb hub inside and a power strip and off you go for any TV or computer desk. The only thing that helped me. Because of taking it off and on. Measuring. The 2 white pieces of wood that fill in the space so you don’t see the wall bracket. It slides on with 2 plastic studs. After hanging the unit and your Happy. Slide those 2 pieces on after it’s hung. It kinda blocks your site for lining up the hooks to the wall railing. When it’s hung it’s firm and sturdy and nice. Mounted it in the wall in the studs. No drywall anchors. Use the studs. See photos get ideas and be different or normal. It’s only wood. I used a hand hacksaw the cut the piece out for power strip and a Hole saw on my drill. Obviously no returns after being cut and drilled. Wife was very happy. These sit above a new 2 person desk that is 10 ft long. Perfect for our needs in the office. ... show more

    • Its good but not great. Instructions could be better, especially mounting.
It assembles about as easy as any of these products do. If you can handle basic the basics, this will be no different. At this price point, it should come as no surprise that this is particle board. It is not super heavy duty particle board, so DEFINITELY be careful screwing things in. You can over-torque pretty easily and then you have ruined that piece. It comes with a marker to 'touch up' the finish where it may be worn on the edges. Mine arrived needing a few corners touched up. The instructions are just pictures, and it would have been helpful to include a couple of tips in places like "Be sure that you have the piece like this because it is easy to get the left and right confused." As other have noted, while the pieces are labeled in the instructions like H1 and H7, the actual pieces are not labeled, so you have to figure out which one is H1 and which is H7. Ok, You got it assembled. Congratulations. Now it is time to mount it. Here, the instructions are a little better. It explains how to mount the rail to the wall and at what height to mount the rail to get the piece at the correct height. Great. Now, it explains that you should use the provided stud screws and not drywall hangers (in my part of the world, most homes use drywall or sheetrock). It explains very carefully that you should use the THREE screws to mount into studs. It helpfully points out that most homes today have studs 16" center to center. This is also correct. It says be sure to mount all three screws. Uhm.... The product is 42" long. Studs are 16" apart. 3 x 16" = 48" so unless you remodel your home or stretch this mounting bracket, it is absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to mount it according to instructions. I used two of the screws and two 100 pound wall hangers and will see how that goes. I installed it as a part of a floating desk from the same maker (with all the same pluses and minuses, so it gets mostly the same review). It is up, and working as advertised, and taking up considerably less space than the desk I am moving out of. The separate hutch means that I get the storage I wanted while still being able to use an ultra-wide monitor. As long as you don't abuse the weight or get it wet or feed it after midnight, it should provide ample service. Note that the height of the cabinet is less than 12" internally. Finding a magazine style storage for paperwork you might want to store there will be a trick, but not impossible. ... show more
