Mine came exactly like the picture, except for one thing. The lion carvings are a little closer to the "foo dogs" found in China than traditional European lions, which makes sense because the table was carved in Asia somewhere (Malaysia I believe) and the woodcarver is probably used to carving foo dogs. The snouts were shorter, although not quite the pug look of foo dogs, so it's almost as if a medieval lion crossbred with a foo dog. Also, mine came with a very strong chemical smell that has not dissipated after normal cleaning, which I need to address. Aside from these issues, it's an absolutely amazing table, and the long rectangular shape is perfect for my long rectangular living room. I paid less than half of the list price, but it's still worth checking out your local antique shops before buying, as they may have something cheaper and/or of better quality wood and carving. ... show more

The box it was shipped in was opened and did not protect the item, one leg is broke and the top is all scratched and the top is a red, while the bottom half is brown. It looks like they pieced two different colors of the table together. I have the desk and thrown that matches this piece and they are brown just like the bottom half of this table. I still like it, i just wish they used the same color of stain on the entire table. ... show more

I was really looking forward to this table. The legs are awesome and look absolutely fantastic. The problem is the distressed look. The table surface looks nice, clean and smooooooth. But it also looks like someone took a ball peen hammer to it to put about 6-8 dings on it to try to give a distressed look, which to me and my wife looked pretty ugly. So we returned it. Very disappointed. If they get rid of the silly want-a-be distressed look I would definitely buy one. ... show more
