I’ve had this towel for a week now and I couldn’t be more thrilled with it. It’s coziness and lightweight cotton is so inviting that I have used it every day. Beyond its beautiful craftsmanship is its easy utility. Blanket, shawl, towel, sensory processing device for my neurodivergent brain, mosquito deterrent, pillow, etc. I’m constantly finding new and delightful uses for it. I’ve essentially morphed into Ford Prefect from The Hitchhiker’s guide to the Galaxy because I bring my towel everywhere. At the pool- it’s everything I ever wanted. Drying way faster than I thought it could, it was strange to feel like I was wrapping up in a super cute blanket while soaking wet until a half moment later when I realized it was the greatest towel ever. I mean that. It ties effortlessly and hangs on your body in a way that feels and looks luxurious and moves with you. Drying dramatically faster than all the other towels of my family and friends, I have since purchased more for each of them so they could bask in these glorious towels as well. Beyond all that awesomesauce, I valued the certifications it came with. I can’t find any thus far that are more ethically sourced and I appreciate that effort to be better humans to other humans.

A while ago I bought Turkish peshtmal towels from Costco and fell in love with them. They dry quickly. Easy to carry while traveling. Work great for drying hair. Costco doesn’t always carry them and they are slightly more expensive than these. I was exploring amazon to find better towels. Ordered bunch of them. These are great! Organic cotton with organic dyes. It says made in turkey. Thickness is perfect. They are really soft. I’ve not yet washed and used them. Will update review after couple of months.

I have ordered 5 different brands of Turkish Towels in order to learn exactly what these thin towels are all about. The first one I ordered had a loose weave, so I wanted to find out if all brands were similar. This Demmex towel sells for around $22 and came out of the package very soft to the touch. It is one of the longest towels I have seen at 71”, and its weight reflects that at 15.7oz/446 g. Nice. It has double knotted tassels, which I think keeps them neat. It came with great care instructions. It has the diamond-with-stripes design so common in this type towel. Only one brand that I ordered was different. I was disappointed to find a snag in the towel already, and when measuring, found that the striped ends are narrower than the middle. I’m not sure if this could be stretched out in the wash? But it was enough to dissuade me from putting it to that test. I was surprised to find that it looked almost exactly like another brand that I had ordered in a different color, for $2 less. I also noticed that the diamond design is a different direction than a third brand I ordered, though they all feel similar in weight. Another reason I am choosing to return this towel is that I found another brand that sells a 4 pack of slightly shorter towels and comes to $8.75/towel, and the quality and appearance doesn't appear much different. If money is no object for you, I would recommend trying this towel, and hopefully you can stretch the ends to match the middle when wet.

I wanted to wait and use these for a few weeks before reviewing them to see if I had any issues. I soaked them for 24 hours in the bathtub as per the instructions, before washing and drying as usual. They were soft and absorbent right from the start. The size is both good and not so good. Good because it's nice and large and easy to wrap around my plus sized body. Not so good because I'm 5'2" and the tassels baaaaarely start to hit the floor when I'm drying off and get wet on the shower floor, but my 6' husband doesn't have that trouble at all. They're just a little weird to get used to at first, being so thin, but I like them a lot, would 100% buy again.

I wanted to wait until I had used and washed these towels before submitting a review. I had never purchased this type of towel before but I wanted them for two reasons 1) we go camping in an RV and I wanted towels that didn’t take up a lot of room and dried quickly 2) my expensive washer bangs when I put my regular towels in it and I didn’t want to wear out my appliance. The towels arrived very nicely packaged and on the scheduled day stated when ordered. When I took them out I was pleased with their size, thickness and appearance. Upon using them they took just a day or two to get use to, they aren’t as thick as regular towels however they were absorbent enough to get the job done. When I washed them I was very pleased, no banging in my washer and they dried in my drier very fast. After washing they looked as good as when I purchased them, no shrinkage, no pilling, even softer than they were prior to being washed. After I use them after I shower I hang them behind my bathroom door, they look nice but I think they are a little slower to dry than I had hoped due to a lack of air circulation behind the door , not the fault of the towels. They do dry, just not fast, but again I think that’s a location issue and not a towel issue (reason I only took one star off) and by the next day they are perfectly dry and smell fresh and clean. I purchased the matching hand towels once I decided how much I liked these towels. I am very happy with this purchase, I would buy these towels again from this distributor. As a result of the benefits listed above I don’t see myself returning to the former heavier type of towel in the future.
