I was pleased that its as sturdy as it is. The wood is not flimsy garbage, as I'd expected, and it wasn't too tough to put together, once I figured out what the pieces were for. I purchased this for my shoes because I have crazy puppies who won't stop chewing them, no matter how much training I've put in. I got tired of putting my shoes up high, so got this as a solution. It's smaller than I realized, just by looking at the pictures on the Amazon listing.. in hindsight, I could have seen this by reading reviews, but that doesn't matter at all! It's perfect for our 4-year-old daughter. It holds just the right amount for us. It was a very cheap option compared to other personalized toy chests, we personalized ours ourselves, saving big bucks all around! It's definitely not as sturdy as some, but again, it's for a toddler, and it was cheap to purchase. I did not anticipate this being the Taj mahal a toddler toy boxes!
