I was looking for a bookcase for my specific needs - narrow and not too tall. This one seemed to fit the bill. Pros: sturdy, easy to assemble, open back (for wires), relatively inexpensive for the quality Cons: the open areas on the side for where the screws go in don’t look the nicest and the bookshelf itself has an unpleasant smell, which seemed to be a common issue among the reviews of almost every bookshelf I looked at. Overall I think I’d purchase again but only because we are using it for the nursery and our baby hasn’t arrived yet. I don’t think I’d be letting my kid sleep in the room with this thing offgassing. If you have a garage or someplace to let it air out for a little bit before putting it in a sleeping space, I’d recommend that. Also pay attention to the size - I knew it would be small but it seemed even smaller in person. Again, not an issue for me but might be for some buyers. ... show more

The mint color is attractive and it fit the bill perfectly. I'm deducting one star because it had a slight paint smell-not nearly as bad as some have described. I bought this bookshelf because it had great reviews, great price, and I needed a storage shelf for the nursery. This is a great bookshelf! Feels sturdy, easy to put together, and a clean classic look! The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it came missing some of the hardware. This is the perfect size, the quality is good, and assembly was easy but it’s been more than a month and it STILL gives off a super chemically smell.
