  • Worth the read.
So far everything in this book has been useful. We still have deer incursions and always will, but veggies are growing and my planted perennials are taking hold this season. Heck I even expanded my culinary herbs as an excuse of protecting my ornamentals. I highly recommend -- especially in the late winter when deer habits are more easily modified. We have a type of peace with the deer now and it has been fully organic and that is great. ... show more

  • Great Care in Packaging and Good Info
First, I want the shipper to know I appreciate the careful packaging such that I received the paperback book in perfect condition. Most of the time that's not the case. The book has plenty of information and ideas.

  • Kindle Edition Review
This is for the Kindle edition of this book -- The charts in the Kindle edition are quite difficult to read. This is disappointing because a lot of important information is on the charts. The charts have tiny print that cannot be enlarged and the type on the charts is very light and difficult to see. Charts aside, the rest of the book is great! Lots of practical ideas. It was helpful and interesting to learn more about how deer think and act. Material in the book: 5 stars. Kindle edition: 3 stars. ... show more

  • Good reading!
I bought the older version of this book and used it for several years. When I saw the revised version I thought I would get a copy. The revised copy does not have the light requirements of the listed deer-resistant plants. The older copy does have the light requirements which is very helpful. Other than that, it is a good reference book. NOTE: A lot of the info is the same as the older version but there is some new information added. Recommend this book, especially if you are new to dealing with deer. ... show more

  • Nice lists of plants, but not much description
This is a basic primer on deer proofing your garden. The information is good, but more limited than other books.

  • This is a great book that covers everything you could ever want to ...
This is a great book that covers everything you could ever want to know about deer and deer behavior. Understanding behavior and preferences is a big help in determining what steps to take to prevent deer damage. I love to see deer and don't want to hurt them but I don't want them destroying my landscape. Highly recommended. ... show more
